When Obama won Indiana by 0.1%, it was considered a fluke. When Trump won Michigan by 0.2%, Wisconsin by 0.7%, and Pennsylvania by 0.8%, it meant Democrats are locked out of those states forever unless they drastically change their entire message.
To be fair you are comparing .1% with a collective 1.7% and that is a pretty big difference. Also, Hillary Clinton was notably absent in Wisconsin and Michigan after they went for Bernie Sanders in the primary. This is a mistake Barack Obama never made - after losing to HRC in the in the Michigan primary, for instance, he made sure to be present not only in Detroit but the rural and suburban (mostly white) parts of the state.
I’m not saying the narrative isn’t getting corrupted on some level but 3 key, usually blue states can hardly be called a fluke.
