I'm writing (among other things) the Teddy raises Danny AU from this post, and @zonedoutsince2015 asked about Pine's role in all this, saying "He'd happily be the translator". And I just think this is so true on different levels! I absolutely think Jonathan is one of those people who jumps at the chance to use his language skills, as a mix of helping people, showing off and exercising his brain (I say this 100% being this kind of person myself). And hilariously I even already wrote that in the WIP, and I'll happily share this bit with you (moar Teddypine fluff 🥳).
“I haven’t seen you here before.” Just as Teddy said it, he realised it was definitely true. They hadn’t shaken hands but they also hadn’t passed each other in the lobby or in the back; Teddy would have remembered it.
“It is a big place,” Robert smiled, “but I also work odd hours.”
Teddy frowned. Before he could stop himself, he asked, “‘Odd’?”
Robert understood him correctly. “Ah, ‘strange’. ‘Weird’. ‘Unusual’.” He must have been eating dictionaries for dessert, as well. “In case of hours it means that I don’t work regular shifts. I just pop in, sometimes.”
“Pop in,” Teddy repeated, eyebrow raised, and a corner of his mouth ticked up in spite of himself.
Robert smiled, as well, and it lit up his eyes. “Yes. In fact, I need to pop off again, now - I have a date at the 23rd.”
“Ah,” Teddy said.
“As in, an appointment,” Robert added. He was possibly enjoying the role of an English teacher too much, just like Danny did. “Right, I’ll be taking the lift up, then, and you?..”

All important communications from AO3 will be sent through the email associated with your account. More general announcements will be posted on our official social media accounts or published as news posts on AO3 or OTW.org.
If you receive one of these comments, do not click on any of the links in it, reply to it, or interact with it in any way. The links in these comments lead to sites asking you to verify your identity by providing payment information. This is a common credit card scam. AO3 does not ever ask users to provide payment information, and the Policy & Abuse committee will never comment on your works asking you to "complete an identity verification process".
If you encounter one of these comments or believe your account has been compromised, please view the instructions under the cut!
We suggest that you review your account to verify that you're using a unique and secure password. Check out the advice from our Policy & Abuse committee on Protecting Your AO3 Account and Keeping Your Account Secure.

Select the "Thread" button on the scammer's comment. This will take you to the specific comment page.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Policy Questions & Abuse Reports.
In the "Brief summary of Terms of Service violation" field, enter "Spambot".
In the "Description of the content you are reporting" field, enter "This is a spambot, their username is USERNAME."
Reporting in this fashion helps us auto-sort your report so that it can be handled as soon as a Policy & Abuse volunteer is available. To help us address reports about these types of bots as fast as possible, please only submit one report per account, and don't include multiple accounts in the same report.

no but actually since we are talking about the waterfall scene in s1 of TNM while yes it does feel like a random and over the top way of objectifying their lead (yay) i really do love the symbolism of it. waterfalls are loud and overpowering and i think it's a great way to show his inner turmoil. primal vibes, man wrestling with (his own/human) nature and fate etc. plus yeah the whole make me clean/guilt thing which i think has a direct echo in the shower Jonathan takes after killing Corky AND the shower Teddy takes in s2 episode 6 as he prepares to betray his father and seek repentance away from criminal life. i think also these are characters in search of truth/redemption/purity who want to wash away the façades they've been forced to wear and seek rebirth away from violence BUT the mask (and the violence) is necessary to accomplish the redemptive task life has thrown their way...tragic, really. shower scene or the summit of sexy angsting
guys can we talk about Jack Linden hiking in a running pace and bathing in a waterfall. what the fuck was that about. getting into character?? or was that jonathan just going, "i've always wanted to do this if I ever came to Devon"
