Darren Criss Opens Up About The Time He Made Out With A Gay Porn Star

"He's very well-liked and if I was going to do that, I only went for the best."

On a recent visit to Conan, Darren Criss chatted about the time he unwittingly made out with a famous gay porn star during a performance of Hedwig and the Angry Inch.

Criss portrayed the transgender rock star on Broadway in 2015 and on a National tour this past fall. He revealed that at one point in every show, he’d run into the audience and pick a guy to make out with during a song, all while decked out in Hedwig’s exaggerated make-up and glitter.

“Kiss is a very polite term. I more like put my head inside their mouth basically,” Criss told O’Brien.

“I would tend to pick the people who I assumed didn’t know what was going on for the comedy—for myself and everybody else. I would try and target the most conservative looking straight boys because that’s just more fun.”

However, during one particular performance, his usual strategy didn’t quite pay off.

“I remember going for this one dude… who I basically roughed up quite a bit. He had make-up on him and everything.”

The Glee alum recalled kissing the man “all up and everywhere that I could possible reach in the time that I had. The guy just had lipstick and glitter all over him.”

After the show, the young gent came backstage with someone he knew from the cast to say hello to Criss, who thought he was being a “great sport.”

The actor went on to say that he “was pleased with [himself] for giving a rollicking good time to a conservative young man.”

After the man left, a couple came up to him and excitedly asked Criss: “Do you know who that was?! That’s our favorite gay porn star!”

“So this guy was putting on airs,” the singer explained. “He’s clearly seen much more than I ever have. Shout out to that young man. Apparently he’s very well-liked and if I was going to do that, I only went for the best.”
