lukadrinette plot where marinette and adrien both agree they definitely want luka together and are subtly trying to imply to luka they like him (he is confused) and then as ladybug and chat noir fight over viperion because they both know who he is. and he knows who both they are. and is even more confused.

Adrien doesn’t know how to explain being in love with two people at once. He’s done it multiple times, even when he didn’t fully understand it himself. Ladybug, Kagami, Marinette… Ever since he tried talking to Nino about it, he got the idea that it’s usually frowned upon, in a “cheating” light. But that isn’t what it’s like! He doesn’t want secret relationships, he doesn't want to hurt anyone in any part of it, but that's the only context he’s ever been shown.

So he pushed it away. Though he has a more platonic relationship with Kagami and Ladybug, with no romantic feelings anymore, he has to keep his mind in line for Marinette. He loves her, he really does! And he doesn’t think anything could change that. But… A certain pair of blue eyes has been catching his attention, and they aren’t just Marinettes.

In a way, he’s glad Luka moved away, but it’s oh so hurtful at the same time. He doesn’t need Luka’s enticing stare, his empathetic kind nature around him, having the same effect on him as Marinette’s headstrong mind, silly sweet nature does. But Adrien doesn’t do well with people he’s close with being so far away.

Apparently, Marinette felt the exact same way.

They were having a quiet cuddle session on Marinette’s chaise, until she suddenly confessed, “I wish Luka was here.”

“Yeah… Me too.” The first thing that came to Adrien’s mind was to agree. The second was to ask, “Wait, do you mean with us? Or-” He originally meant with them, but she easily could’ve meant him being in Paris at all.

“I- I meant uhm-” She sputtered as he looked up to her. “I was just saying I missed him, that can mean anything I didn’t- I don’t-” She shut her mouth and looked away in a panic.

Adrien blinked, not knowing what the panic was for, tucking his face back into the crook of her neck again. “Well, I meant with us. I like him.”

Marinette’s hold on him tightened. “R-right! Uhm- me too! I like Luka too! Well, I mean, I like Luka in the totally normal platonic way not- not like that anymore because we’re not together anymore!” She pushed out in a breath.

Ok maybe Adrien got his hopes up too early. Of course she isn’t like him, of course she would only love Adrien, she isn’t like him. But he’s reminded of when Luka and Marinette were together, and he remembers at the time he felt a tad jealous, but he doesn’t know who he was jealous of. At the time, he concluded it was a relationship at all, even if he was with Kagami, it just wasn’t the same. He liked seeing them together, he liked seeing them both.
