Another look at some of the Spiderwort (Tradescantia... spp.) blooming in the yard.
New Monstera Leaves
Its so pretty to see the new, glossy leaves unfurling!
Last new plant for a while but I HAD to!
Burle Marx Flame Monstera.
I cut my peperomia to propagate it and a little droplet of water made its way back up the stem is this normal???
It’s kinda cute but im also a bit worried
... at least I know she drinks her water well
o‼️
It is doing A Thing!!!!! I think it’s starting to grow a new leaf!!! It’s so strange to see it separate like that 😭
everything about this is normal, both the water droplet and the shriveling:)
Aloe vaotsanda
Aloe vaotsanda is a trunk-forming single-headed species from southern Madagascar. It has a multi-branched inflorescence that angles to the side rather than growing upward. It is notable for the way the flowers abruptly change from red to yellow as they open.

This cactus is pretty cool I think 🤔

I really appreciate houseplants that communicate clearly. If you are thirsty you should perk up when I water you. If you want more light you should grow when I give you more sun. If you have too much light you should start to shrivel and brown. I’ve known too many houseplants that keep their cards close to their chests like oh ho ho riddle me this you’ll never guess what I’m dying of now!!!!
Chilopsis linearis - Desert Willow
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This little tree is flowering in the greenhouse at the school garden. It will be planted this week when my Environmental Science students and I plant a cactus and succulent garden. We have been collecting cactus and other desert flora all year in anticipation of creating a cactus/succulent area in the school garden.
Using nothing but shovels the the students first excavated a 12 x 12 ft hole (~2 ft deep) into the compacted, rocky soil in an unused corner of the garden. Next they mixed in about 2 yds of top soil with the excavated dirt and filled the hole back in. Tomorrow we will be mixing about 1000 lbs of sand into the planting area and creating a small berm of loose, sandy soil. Then the real fun can begin.
to be continued…
Pothos propagation two weeks or so.
