Did some repots today! My Thai Con desperately needed one. So much so that when I went to pull her out of the pot most of what was left in the pot was roots! I'm not crazy about the job I did with it but she is against a support pole and has room to grow so check and check.
My hoya carnosa crimson queen was also way overdue for a repot. It was nice being able to spread out her growth so that more can fill in the spaces! Also not pictured is my Alocasia Regal Shield. Finally got some done!
Today was a good day. I'm proud of myself. I'm proud of my partner. I'm thankful for the answers and solace that grows inside me as I continue reading The Bhagavad Gita. Introspection, metacognition, understanding, and accountability are very important things to me and those I wish to keep in my life.
Last week I finally put together a piece I've been meaning to for a while now, for Lord Krishna and Radha. I do not personally identify as a follower of any particular faith but I have a great interest in theology, the history of, it's role in society and humankind, etc.
Also brought home a Neon Pink Syngonium because she is beautiful 🩷
From my other blog 💚
My begonia is flowering 🌸 Just a little but there were a couple
This is not plant related. I just have thoughts that I need to get out.
My partner ended our relationship earlier this week. He gave an explanation but it wasn't based upon anything new and very much unlike our other weekends together this month. I had just been gifted a ring as a token of commitment. Last weekend we were with him we had a sleepover with him and his daughter (and my son).
There was a disagreement over text on Wednesday. Next thing I know I'm reading that he feels the need to step away from the relationship.
I'm just very hurt. I've been in several long term relationships at this point in my life but never have I felt the love I felt for him. To know it wasn't real for both of us now has just been incredibly hard for me.
That's all.
Brought this home last week with the Florida Ghost; a Hoya Kerri with inner variegation!
Plant update: my son planted some flower seeds in the planter we built at a HD workshop last month. Two of the five sprouted and they are doing wonderfully! He is really enthusiastic about watching them grow. I can't remember what they were so it will be a surprise when they bloom!
My Confetti Syngonium is just growing like a bouquet 💐
Brought home a Florida Ghost Philodendron!
Plant photo dump:
Alocasia babies from my Dragon Scale and Odora Batik are thriving! I plan on separating the DS ones soon when I repot the mom; her rhizome is starting to be higher above the soil than I'd like.
Speaking of babies...I chopped up my White Butterfly Syngonium into so many props. Five pots total, I think only two have just one cutting. Hopefully they do well enough to gift out or sell for cheap on marketplace.
Looking into ways to make my crafting/talents into extra money. Probably working with textiles as well as oddities/decor. And plants when I can get them going.
New leaves are happening 🌱
Picked up this beautiful Anthurium from the nursery on my home today 💚 My mother is visiting for this week. Not only is it such a relief to have some help with the house and with my son but it is also such a blessing just to have her around again. I haven't seen her in almost a year and that was just for a couple of days. This plant reminded me of how beautiful it is to have her love and support in all of the ways she provides it.
My one and only Begonia. I'm so happy with her! She's been in the collection for almost three months I think. The self watering pot seems to be working amazing and the lower light spot by my humidifier is keeping her happy.
Dragon Scale Mint 🌱
At least I'm pretty sure.
I found a four leaf clover at work today! It's the first one I've ever found and ironically it came from wildflower seeds that I planted there 😂 The amount of joy I received upon finding this is indescribable.
Some randoms from yesterday. New leaf on my Dragon Scale Mint but it's acting all weird so I moved it closer to the humidifier just in case it was that. Colocasia Mojito has a new leaf! She has been a nice producer, thankfully replacing every leaf it loses. My Antoro Velvet Alocasia gave me a scare yesterday. I looked over while I was cleaning and she was entirely dropping. Her soil was bone dry. Thankfully she's parked back up. And lastly my begonia that is just killing it!
