In 2016, I might’ve exhausted myself trying to convince y’all to vote blue, but if over 184,000 dead Americans, Trump’s amicus briefs to SCOTUS asking the Court to block federal LGBT+ protections, the transgender military ban, the appointment of an anti-choice rapist to the court (in an attempt to attack women’s reproductive rights), the systematic separation of families at the border, the willful use of the military in the form of anonymous DHS agents against our own citizenry who are literally protesting this exact lack of accountability, the destruction of our economy, Trump equating violent white supremacists and neo-nazis in Charlottesville to peaceful protesters, his attacks on our democracy by delegitimizing elections, his despotic attempts to steal this election by removing mail-in voting and delaying the vote altogether — if those abhorrent actions can’t convince you to vote, if you don’t care that RBG and Breyer are gonna get replaced and that we’ll be stuck with a 7-2 conservative Supreme Court for decades to come and how that opens up the possibility of Roe v. Wade, Obergefell v. Hodges, Bostock v. Clayton County, and DACA getting overturned (because what is stare decisis to a conservative justice anyway), if you don’t care about the countless conservative federal judicial appointments Trump will make with yet another 4 years, then I dunno what the f*ck else to tell you. “But, I don’t wanna vote for the lesser of two evils” is such a breathtakingly stupid, petulant, and privileged statement to make, and if that’s really where you’re at, wow, please do some soul searching and figure that sh*t out, preferably before the fascist we have in the White House gets re-elected because of your inactivity. If Angela Davis, Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, Michelle Obama — if they’re endorsing and voting for Biden and Harris, then what the f*ck is your excuse? (That’s a rhetorical question by the way, if you’ve made it this far and you’re still not voting, please don’t actually respond and just block me.)
