Spent most of yesterday putting these together. Each tray is two inches tall and just under three inches wide, so only the teensiest trinkets would fit. I used stones, shells, dried flowers, fossils, vintage glass gems and jewelry bits, all which I already had on hand — the only things I bought were the actual trays.

I might have to try making some trays from scratch, because these are very shallow and I have a lot more bits that would fit in slightly bigger/deeper compartments.

Redesign of an OC from 2019. His name is Merak and he's an human who stayed for too long in the realm of the fey, causing him to be affected by glamour magic. He's a changeling, when he was a baby got kidnapped by king Oberon to replace his severely ill son, but once the fae prince came back feeling better, Merak got neglected and decided to escape the Summer Court. Merak managed to get back to the mortal plane but he had trouble adapting to live among his people, so he stayed with unaligned faeries in a nearby forest and founded a little school where he teaches about his discoveries about human culture to the young fey and helps curious human children to learn magic.

the poster that this incredible illustration is based on is extremely striking. but while searching for it, I also found earlier posters for conveying this message along with a corresponding one for summer, and I fucking love them. absolutely lovely graphic design work. (both are from 1924, artist is Austin Cooper)

the one I was looking for originally also has a summer variant. (artist is Frederick Charles Herrick: 'it is warmer below' is from 1927, 'it is cooler below' is 1926)
