I'm Brian (he/him) and I make art. This blog is mostly for my illustrations, but I also do comics, short and weird writing, and vocal synth music. I have a sideblog for reblogs, doodles, and photographs. You can find me on Instagram with art and music, and YouTube with music.
I have a short psychological horror comic on Webtoon Canvas and Tapas from Halloween of 2023.
Here is a guide to what I post on this blog:
CURRENT FIXATION: M*A*S*H
Star Trek: Lots of Data. I swear I'm a comic artist, I swear I'm working on my original projects, but. . . Data. . .
Dreams for Sale: A horror anthology about the colliding paths of a journalist and a shopkeeper.
Status: UPDATES MONTHLY ON WEBTOON AND TAPAS !!!
1950s story, currently untitled: No plot yet, just vibes. Two trans people stumbling through the 1950s.
Status: saved for later
Forget Me Not: A drama about mental illness, loss, talent, and rock music.
Status: scripting in progress
Cicada Season: A short story about the unsettling events that occur before an aspiring writer goes off to college.

1920s story, currently untitled: A supernatural horror story involving a private detective and the. . . person. . . he finds by the side of the road.
Status: saved for later
Beautiful Machine: A sci-fi story about a guy with an android repair shop, his assistant, and an android who refuses to be turned off.
Status: saved for later
Circuit: A far-future sci-fi mystery about the power source of a country that exists entirely in an underground silo.
Status: saved for later
Mari: A surreal story about the way one artist sees the world.
Status: saved for later
Death of the Author: A dark comedy about a struggling author, a spirit, and a medium running a Korean exorcism business out of a New Jersey apartment.
Status: saved for later
Today's reminder: Short and usually surreal posts that I write just for fun!
Ok I know I literally just posted a caption about how needing to talk about your comic is the worst part about making a comic BUT I TAKE IT BACK I WAS WRONG. The worst part is that friends who don't make comics seem to think you want them to read it to increase some nebulous metric of success. No, I want YOU to read it. I am sharing this with you. I have put work and love into this and I want you to share it.
DREAMS FOR SALE DAY !! New episode out on Webtoon and Tapas at 12 PM PST, 3 PM EST !! Lots of Easter Eggs in this one, definitely not limited to these characters from comics by @/smuppey on instagram, @/kasebrots on instagram, and @sheisawantedman
Probably the worst part about making a comic is that in order to get people to read it I have to talk about it. If I could talk, would I be making a comic? I don't know. Go read Dreams for Sale and let it talk for itself, how the heck do I know what it wants to say?
(And with this post, my Frankposting streak is over)

Four Frankposts in a row, do I get a medal now or do I get shot?
I’m starting to lose track of all the songs I’ve used for these two at this point so if you see a repeat no you don’t <3 From this point on, nobody is allowed to tell me to touch grass because I went to the North Sea and then sat down and drew this. It’s permanent.
Frank’s dress is (approximately) from the Sears spring/summer catalog 1959, and Margaret’s outfit is also 1950s Sears but I don’t remember the year because I closed my reference tabs (oops).
“People should pass a test before being allowed to have kids.” “Isn’t it scary how white people have this inborn capacity for evil?” “I’ll never pass because males and females have different skull shapes.” “Autistic people have a stronger sense of justice than anyone else.” “I don’t want AMABs in my space because they’re dangerous.” “You shouldn’t have access to hormones if you dress like THAT.” “Anyone who does something that awful isn’t human.” “Some people really shouldn’t be allowed to vote.”
This is eugenics. This is phrenology. THIS IS NAZI SHIT, YOU ARE A LEFTIST BUYING INTO NAZI SHIT. YOU ARE NOT IMMUNE TO NAZI SHIT.
Double Frankposting today, am I allowed to do that (question mark?) 😳
This looks like the kind of picture that should have a bit of dialogue in italics at the bottom but I couldn't think of anything. Actually I didn't have any thoughts at all while drawing this, I reserve that for bigger and more detailed things 👍
I think for a long time Frank dresses like an absolute dork because she was praised for being Neat and Tidy as a kid, but post transition she has to learn all new fashion rules, so she ends up looking pretty good. Definitely still Neat and Tidy and nothing creative, but needing to buy new clothes brings her a step up. It doesn't matter that we don't see Frank in civvies on the show, I KNOW she had a closet full of polo shirts back home.
((I should have been a clothing catalog illustrator but that job pretty much went out when photography got cheap and easy </3
Outfit is from the Sears spring/summer catalog 1957))
Honestly I just drew this to practice spatial tension and then went totally overboard. I think it's interesting how we pretty much never see Frank's dog tags, but Hawkeye's are always out in the open. Hawkeye thinks about death all the time, but I wonder about Frank. Seeing as how he never got very far past an elementary school level of thinking, does he really understand that he can die? Frank is scared all the time, but I don't think he's that much more scared being in a warzone than he would be in daily life. There's another thing to upset myself with :)
"It bled when I blocked it" is a normal, if unfortunate, thing to say about a piece of knitting, but an extremely metal thing to say about a tumblr user.
I’m stripping down my moral code so I can make better art. Really just sticking to the bare essentials like “thou shalt not put more than three types of cheese on the same sandwich.”
New episode of Dreams for Sale out on Webtoon and Tapas !!! Links in my pinned post!
I'm really proud of the colors on these two pages in particular. I never thought I would say this but this chapter is starting to make me like drawing crowd scenes! There aren't any easter eggs in this part (not that I can remember, anyway) but there are a ton coming up in the next episode hehe. And of course there's also a horrifying crowd scene approaching 👀
Inprnt update!! I added my best recent work as well as some slightly older things that you guys loved <3
My P*E*A*N*U*T*S are always my bestsellers, and rest assured, I do have more in the works! But right now I'm giving the spotlight to more detailed pieces in my own art style. ((P*E*A*N*U*T*S are still available of course)).
The link to my inprnt is in my pinned post, as well as the link to my fourthwall shop where you can buy t-shirts, a bag, or a (late) calendar! My fourthwall shop is currently very P*E*A*N*U*T*S-focused but do let me know if you'd like some of the stuff up above on a shirt :]
I am once again transposting on my art blog because it’s important to me <3
I do understand the impulse to post “conservatives want HIM in the women’s bathroom? [image of masculine trans man]” in response to bathroom bills, but also please consider what you are actually saying with that. People aren’t getting thrown out of bathrooms because creeps are peeking over the stalls and looking at their bits, they’re getting thrown out because of easily perceived traits like height, facial hair, clothing, and voice. In real life, it can be impossible to tell whether the person with facial hair in the women’s bathroom is a trans man or a woman with PCOS or otherwise intersex or a trans woman who doesn’t pass. I get that “you want HIM in the women’s bathroom?” refers specifically to the trans guy in the photo, but broadly it’s saying that anyone with masculine traits shouldn’t be in the women’s room which is…you know…exactly what conservatives are saying. You simply don’t know a stranger’s sex or gender just by looking (and it’s no one’s business). Everyone I mentioned above DOES get thrown out of the bathroom, we’ve seen it happen. Even cis perisex women get harassed for peeing while butch.
And all this is not even mentioning that conservatives’ goal ISN’T to put trans men in the women’s room and trans women in the men’s room. The goal is to make us unsafe and even illegal in public spaces, pushing us out of sight and eventually out of existence. They don’t want us in any bathrooms at all.
My point isn’t to say who should or shouldn’t be in which bathrooms, it’s just that we should all stop policing who we see in there and mind our own business. The ultimate solution is to have more gender neutral bathrooms, preferably doing away with gendered ones entirely.
Frank studies and the obligatory girlification. One could make the argument that I like her, but I don't know, more evidence is needed.
I want to do a comic in this style in the future but I have to play around with it a bit more to figure out how to do backgrounds and different types of lighting. I love flat color comics but I'm so uncomfortable working with flat colors myself lol. I'm also working on a script for a M*A*S*H comic that will be entirely green so I have plenty of opportunity to experiment with styles ahead of me (yippee!)
