I don’t think Fancy was actually that good of a song. I think people loved it because it was a pretty big change for Twice and people have been longing for “girl crush”/dark Twice since Like Ooh Ahh. Had Fancy been released by any other group, it would likely be considered just an average song, or even called messy - like Dalla Dalla for example.
