I donāt have talent, I have tenacity. I have discipline, I have focus. And I know without any delusion, where I come from and where I can go back to.

Is it hard finding a girlfriend while being an athlete?
It can definitely be difficult to work out a reasonable schedule between training, work, my own personal life and spending time with my girlfriend. Generally a girl will want to spend more and more time with you and that's a fantastic thing because that means things are going well. This can cause a problem with performance though. You have to keep your priorities in focus and be able to talk to your girlfriend about your training needs. My girlfriend right now helps me train and keeps me focused. That is the compromise she has made. I explained to her that the times I set out to train are non-negotiable so if she wants to spend that time with me, she has to help me train.
Please remember that these attacks in France may have not been conducted by Jihadists. However, regardless of if they were, we must remember they do not represent the majority of Muslim people. If this is ISIS, as it is likely to be, it is very important that we remember that our Muslim neighbors are not at fault here, and we must stand in solidarity with them in this, as they are for us. Please, do not turn to racism and Islamophobia. If you see Islamophobia and racist comments against Muslim people in response to these attacks, say something!
Is it hard being an athlete?
It's hard to stay motivated and not get discouraged by people who are better than you. What matters most is that you keep your goals in mind. Keep trying to improve on your own personal best first. Most importantly you have to keep having fun! :)
The moment before youāre about to quit is usually right before the miracle happens.
Time to get my ass in gear.

I Couldāve done Better

It is particularly important to identify depression without sadness (anhedonia) because recent research indicates that it may be anhedonia rather than sadness that correlates with poor physical health.
For anyone who is wondering whats its like to be a depressed athlete, this is how I feel and why I race. Itās not because I like it or Iām particularly good at it, i just feel better when Iām exercising.Ā
I stole this image from TriDieselĀ because I was just thinking how much I missed my bike. I had to ship my bike out to Boulder 18 days before the race, and now itās taking 17 days to get it back. That is crazy! Iām thinking I could have ridden it back from Boulder myself in that amount of time. Itās due back at the shop tomorrow and then they will put it back together. I miss it!
Almost 40 days in prime biking weather without my bike. Never again. The bike leg of the race was the bomb and Iām glad I did it, but next time Iām driving it myself.
