me being raised on 90s internet rules where telling someone online your favorite color was giving out too much personal information watching gen z youtubers give out their real first and last names and telling everyone the exact city and apartment complex where they live
Please stop making caards listing out all your mental illnesses, race, age, gender, sexuality, full name, location, school, job history, specific special interests and hyperfixations to the point where someone can easily stalk you through the information you are posting. No one is entitled to know any of this for any reason. You don’t need to prove anything to anyone.

Love isn’t patient and kind and humble. Love is… love is messy and horrible and selfish and… bold. It’s not finding your perfect half. It’s the trying and reaching and… failing. Love is… being willing to ruin your good painting… for the chance of a great one.

any hcs for jealous dair? (like a girl a flirting with dan and blair getting jealous)
blair is used to feeling insecure in relationships. it’s normal, isn’t it? it comes with the territory for her. and dating dan is still new, and they’re in that awkward limbo of not knowing how much they should be showing off the relationship in public, with their myriad of exes and such. but they’re at a party, and maybe dressing dan up was a bad idea, because this girl’s been watching him from across the room all night, maybe even tries to make conversation at some point, like blair’s not even there. he has no idea, is rattling off some stupid joke in blair’s ear, and she turns around and shuts him up with a kiss that’s almost harsh in its force. dan pulls away, asks what she’s doing. kissing my boyfriend! i can’t kiss my boyfriend? and he says she can, she just doesn’t in public, not like that. i’ll kiss you back if you tell me what’s going on. so she points the girl out (you oblivious idiot!), and dan doesn’t mean to laugh, he really doesn’t, but, blair, are you jealous? and she says, no, i just like for people to know what’s mine. they hardly make it home after that.
blair can be quick to jealousy, maybe even more so as time goes on (remember the whole relationships die after three months bullshit? imagine how worried she’d be after three years). dan is not always very good at dissuading her from her jealous antics because he thinks it’s kinda cute that she’ll grab his arm in the middle of a conversation and drag him away. she’s very territorial, and that’s not a problem, because dan really, really likes it. he understands where it’s coming from, that insecurity, but he can’t help but poke at her cute little pout like, you really think i’d ever want someone other than you? i’m obsessed with you. it’s gross, i need help.
dan isn’t as prone to jealousy, because he stood back and watched her be with other guys, helped her be with other guys, just as long as she was happy. but society events, where there’s dozens of guys of much higher social standings, with more money and more opportunities and just more, talking to her, flirting with her, he feels overwhelmingly like, what does he even have? what does he even give to her? (and she’s told him, countless times, exactly what. but there’s still that insecurity, that little bit of gnawing fear that someone will come along and she’ll realize it all over again, that he’s not enough). dan’s not aggressive, obviously, he just gets all sulky. and blair corners him and demands to know what’s wrong, because these parties are not big enough to hold your moody lonely boy angsting! he tells her, and she, too, understands but thinks he’s being ridiculous. that guy? he’s insufferable. and not even in a cute way.
there’s a cute kind of insufferable? dan asks. yes, blair says, with a little kiss to his nose. you.
DAIR APPRECIATION WEEK 2021 DAY THREE: Favorite friendship moments
I’m dying to know, what are some of your favorite quotes?
in general or from the show? i’ll go with the latter but lmk if you meant otherwise!
i think my favourite quote overall is probably the speech blair gives jenny in the bathroom in the s2. it’s really revealing for the whole queen b persona and is the perfect touch of melodramatic pseudo-deepness that i think only works well on a cw show.
as for dair quotes, i think the winner for me would be “it was nice not being friends with you” / “let’s not do it again sometime” because i’ve always thought there was something so romantic about it that i can’t quite explain. it’s the same with watching a movie over the phone, it’s this simple declaration of just really liking the time you spend with someone. the characteristic plausible deniability just adds to it. “you’ll still have me” / “it wouldn’t to me” carry the same weight while still being such simple statements. scenes like that feel like they belong to a different show, given how much of the romantic scenes were chock full of over dramatic and ultimately incredibly shallow declarations. like the few times the writers realized that less is more (but then you remember the context, and, lol).
most quotes are cherished by us because we have so many great ones but an underrated one for me is “i can’t believe you talked me into the joseph beuys exhibit after all”. he nagged her into coming with him knowing that she would probably spend a majority of the time complaining and arguing because after spending time with her he didn’t want to go to those things alone anymore. he loved her company and everything it included!!
