Jenny, I liked that you were clear about your opinion and focused on one issue. But I am very interested to hear about what other issues you think are influencing our ever cold world. Say we didn't have to worry about oil or other natural resources being used up, do you think it is in human nature to try and get as much political power as possible? so can we then tranfer your thoughts about being greedy on oil and applie them to just being greedy and selfish in general?

Fantasizing about a cold-less world is effortless, painless. There are many different ways on how each individual view a cold world, as well as the solutions to it. Some people see “cold” as conflict, superiority, injustice, giving someone a go-by, etc. In some ways, what we could avoid as human beings is violence against women. Stating the obvious that men are a little more superior to women, it makes them build more power over them, which leads to injustice and sometimes-physical cruelty. Not only to women, but this also connects to all humans in a way that we are born not to have, but to learn the rights and the wrongs. However, there is not a right way. There are no right answers. Probably not even the right God. It is therefore how people believe, and view things. Only us would know what is right, however we need to justify and prove what we possess.

            This video is showing how women are desperate to “break the chain” which represents them being chained by men’s power and abuse. This connects to why both genders are not seen as equal. The power of equality leads to a strong change, which creates conflict between two genders. Women are obviously having a hard time to get rid of this and so, they raised awareness around the world to all women. They resolved to choreograph a dance, and the lyric to the song was made powerful enough to bring the message to all women. About 200 countries are now aware of what women should avoid. Women speak and deliver this message through the art of dancing. The lyric to this video deliver messages such as: Women could face anything and couldn’t be oppressed by anyone Women believe in a cold-less (power-free) and safe world

No women should go against this (All for one, and one for all)

I love how you made me realize that there are so many things that cause this world to be cold, and how you chose one to talk about instead of trying to talk about them all which would have been confusing and maybe not as accurate. I strongly agree with the fact that in a lot of countries women are still not viewed as equal to men, and that does create a lot of tension in this world. Do you think that this is a problem world wide or just in some countries? And do you think it’s because of certain cultures and/or religions or is it just simply because men feel that they deserve a higher status in society?

Thank you! I’m glad you agree to my opinions. Great question, I personally don’t think it is a problem all over the world. Only to some countries, but I can’t say “most” because I didn’t do the research. When speaking about gender equality, i’d say religion is the main cause of all these conflicts. As you have said in your own blog, we act how we are being raised. That also connects to how the rules in different religions make men and women unbalanced.

I really liked that you chose to show your answer in the unique way of dancing. The video was inspiring and delivered your point about female rights.

Since you spoke mainly about female right, I am still not clear about your answer though... Do you think that we can achieve a cold-less world or not? If the aswer is yes, do you believe that this can be done mainly through gender equality or is there another and more efficient first step of moving towards a cold-less world? And how do you think that gender equality can halp us move further towards a peaceful world?

hi Carter,

I disagree with your thought on how it is in human nature to have wars, and how we will always have a world filled with violent wars between, and in, nations. i think that even though there will always be discussions and different opinions, our world will someday lear that war is not the answer. You said that some of the reasons are that war is a way of earning honor for fighting for something, and you may be right about that. mayeb that was the case in the past, but i believe that we humans have learnt to accept different opinions and can solve possible conflicts without violence.

The summary of what I’m talking about is how there is no answer to the question “Can we live in a cold-less world?” because we are surrounded by so much people that answering that question is impossible. However, we could create a more peaceful environment by starting to work on ourselves before judging others and getting into conflicts. The two worst factors in creating tension are inforcing your opinions, religion or political views on others while not accepting their own and judging others based on their way of thinking. We also need to realise that we, as humans, are so different from each other, every person is unique and it’s not possible for us to all agree or think the same way. It’s fun to sometimes debate about certain topics with your friends or family and learn new information while still having a strong opinion about the topic and sharing it with others, it could create tension but as long as it doesn’t result in a conflict or anger it’s a good kind of tension. If we teach the next generations of acceptance and peace we will start to see a bigger change, because the way we are raised has a great impact on the opinions we form later, as adults. So instead of passing on hate towards a certain person or culture on to our children, we should teach them to accept everyone, no matter where they come from or how different they are. As long as we accept that each person is different we are on the right part to a tension-less world.

Chiara, I agree with your opinion that a cold-less world is not posible to achieve. I liked how you shared how you think we can IMPROVE our society, even though you do not think we can fix it totally. 

I also think that the first step towards a better place is acceptance and understanding. i was wondering how do you think we can achieve that?

Arianna Yett mentioned in her video that going to an international school might teach us to be more both knowlegable and "used" to other religions and ways of thinking. Do you think that our world would be less cold if more people moved to other places in the world and experienced new things more frequently?

2013 is supposed to be yet another year when people are supposed to make a new year’s resolution to better their ways in any way that person sees fit. I, on the other hand, have no real resolution I plan on committing to full time. I don’t feel like I should change even though there are others who...

I like the fact that you reflect on your process of one of your biggest achivements this year, and congratulations on finishing it on time! 

I am not a big fan of new year resolutions either, but I do think it is healthy to have some kind of goal or expectation to yourself, and the start of a year is a good time to concider that. Therefore I think that you should make an effort now in the new year and not wait for an academic miracle to happen without putting in work for it.
