Recently, there have been a number of negative events that have come one right after another. And because of this, I have been questioning so much - why are You doing this to me ? Why can’t You just make this easier for me, it’s already so damn hard.

In a chapter out of Max Lucado’s Six Hours One Friday, he talks about how difficult and frustrating one of his weeks was, similar to mine, one bad thing right after another. He too questioned, “What if God had responded to my grumblings? What if he’d heeded my complaints? He could have.”

So then why doesn’t He ? What does He want me to learn ? 

“Your complaints are not over the lack of necessities but the abundance of benefits. You bellyache over the frills, not the basics; over benefits, not essentials. The source of your problems is blessings.”

Honestly, yeah a lot of shit has sucked and it’s okay that I’m frustrated and want to complain, but I have been lacking gratitude. I’m so used to having everything pretty good, at least, a majority of the time, that I take it for granted and get overwhelmed or upset when things are hard and aren’t what I’m used to. Because I’m too busy complaining, I forget to see how much I have to be grateful for.
