Anyone alleging dcblackout was homophobic for planning the boycott during pride month is so ridiculous to me. Not even just ideologically, but also basic financial sense???

DC releases a bunch of extra comics and specials during pride months. These are specifically targeting the “progressive” section of their fan base. DCBlackOut is also hoping to rely on that exact subset of fans.

Pride specials, can mean a lot to people, but DC is still a company and they are still products. To hit DC where it hurts (their bottom line), and most effectively utilise participating demographic of DCBlackOut, setting the boycott during Pride Month is THE best choice.

(To clarify I am not saying that DCBlackOut was deliberately positioned to happen in June. What I am saying is that the timing was fortuitous, and watching all the so-called progressives crawl out the woodwork to bemoan this under the guise of “allyship” has been very disappointing.)
