Making Adora a First One is such a gold mine for fanfic. Here's this precursor civ that's clearly a bunch of colonizing assholes! Also, Adora and Mara are the only ones we see in person on screen!

What makes them unique? WHO KNOWS!!

We can safely assume Catra has retroreflective eyes, but maybe Adora does too! Maybe Adora can't contract diseases from other Etherians! Maybe she can, but only from people with enough First Ones ancestry that their immune systems are susceptible to the same pathogens! And slight deviations from canon are still totally within canon tone and themes!

Anyway, I love Unnerving Adora and you should too.

#the part about her immune system is actually interesting #native etherians had presumably thousands of years of evolution in order to adapt to the native etherian viruses bacteria and fungi #adora is however fresh off the portal‚ and having pure(? we actually don't know ig lol) first ones ancestry #she has no real way to have any innate resistance to etherian pathogens #so in my head she should be more vulnerable‚ or at least is until she actually gains antibodies #for serious illness the horde presumably gave out vaccines because like it or not having your troops and workforce all sick with the flu #does cut down on their productivity. but there are diseases that you can't really make vaccines like for bacteria-borne illnesses #or even rhinoviruses which are the main cause for common colds #this is all to say that in my head adora was just a really sickly kid </3 until her immune system caught up enough #and even then i imagine there are some pathogens that normal etherians are effectively immune to that would affect her more #especially if said pathogens never thrived in the fright zone for whatever reason #typing this out has me imagining catra is kinda traumatized over adora getting sick so often and so badly compared to all the other kids #every time adora sneezes catra just turns to stare at her like 0_0 lmao #this is way too long i'm sorry #adora #spop #also i do think that she totally has like. an unusually long set of floating ribs or an appendix with a little bit of function #maybe that's part of why she can eat so much. and maybe even her massive forehead is just a first ones thing

catra would definitely be an emo imo... she had a my chemical romance phase in her teens (why else would she be so good at eyeliner??) and then she'd also like grungy music,,, im thinking hole n veruca salt maybe... idk...

for adora she's just straight up paramore's biggest fan. catra would force adora to listen to emo music and thus paramore but also their pop-punk aspect would fit w her... in my mind glimmer&bow would introduce adora to pop music... also im sensing that she would like fiona apple .... My 6th sense is telling me as such...

so basically theyre both emos cuz the horde raises emos it seems

THATS THE FIRST TIME SHES SEEN HER AT ALL.

This might feel less revelatory when I'm not going to sleep for the night, but like.

SHE WAS DEAD. SHE SAW ADORA WITHOUT SHE-RA. SHE FELL. SHE DIED. SHE WOKE UP ALIVE IN ADORA'S ARMS.

She knows from the Captain's chair scene that Adora is trying to summon She-ra without the old sword. But she literally hasn't seen new She-ra until the moment ADORA TRANSFORMS TO DEFEND HER SPECIFICALLY. TO CARVE VENGEANCE FOR CATRA'S PAIN INTO THE STARS THEMSELVES.
