i did not elucidate it very well but this is a hypothetical situation in which Dante cannot revive Sinclair. the implication is Demian uses his awesome fagtastic Sign powers to give his life so that Sinclair may live - it aligns pretty well with the book, wherein Demian leaves Sinclair, as he no longer needs a moral or spiritual guide and is ready to live life on his own terms ..
