My husband and I need a little help getting settled into a place of our own.
TLDR: We need about $3,000 to get out of the current room we are renting and get a place of our own, but because of a series of very unfortunate events we have no savings to afford first / last month and security deposit. We can afford rent monthly once we are settled!

While moving to a new state to rent a room from a friend for 3-4 months until we were settled in and found a place, my husband and I were rear-ended. Resulting in losing our car (It was paid off and we had the most basic insurance) The insurance said they could not determine who was at fault because the other guy said it was our fault and the police report was “undetermined for he said/she said”
This started off an entire chain of very unfortunate events and left us needing help, from you.
So, it set us back in time and in money. First, we had to spend a lot of money on a hotel until everything was sorted out with the police report, then we had to rent a car to get to our destination, plus pay for all the hotels on the way. We had a route and booked hotels and we lost the money we prepaid on those. We went though so much money on food and hotels.
On our way out here my husbands job calls and says that his transfer was messed up and the only position they could offer him at the time came with a 58% pay CUT.
When we finally reached our destination the room we were renting wasn't move in ready (Even though they had months advance to get it ready) Another hotel stay. More fast food.
We burnt through our savings. Fast. It was measly as it was, but.. it WAS.
After we are settled in (as settled in as we could be) we go to purchase a new car. Neither of our credits were great, but they weren't terrible either.
WELL. The guy runs our credit a bunch so it takes a HUGE hit. We get settled with a new (used) car and 2 days later it breaks down in the middle of the road while my husband is on his way home from work. They take it back, we get our deposit back after an entire ordeal from the dealership.
We go get another car. My husbands is applying for better jobs. Things are looking up.
3 weeks later our new (used) car gets stolen. We are shaken. We are uncomfortable where we live. We are dehumanized. We are broke. We still have to make payments on this stolen car because the insurance will only cover most of it. We paid 8K total to a car we didn't even have for a month.
We still have to pay for the room we are renting. We can't afford to get another car. The banks are weary to loan to us.
My husband lands a job making slightly less than he was before he took that pay cut. Things are looking up. We are trying to save for a car, but between paying for the room we are renting, food, bills, basic necessities and my husband ubering back and forth to work. We can't save up for a new car. We are stuck in a loop.
We finally are in a situation where we can get a new car, it's a beater. The payments for the car and now because of the accident, the lemon and the theft our insurance payments are OUTRAGEOUS.
We finally get things back on track we have a small savings of about $1,000 starting when my husband is rushed to the hospital with really high blood pressure and chest pain. He is to new to his job to get financial assistance, but he is approved so he won't loose his job.
This goes on for a few weeks. He's finally feeling better and able to get back to work after 6 weeks.
We are back to having nothing in the bank account.
My friend tells us we have to leave by September.
We have no savings. This is where we need help. We are 100% able to pay for rent once we get settled into a place, however we do not have savings for first, last and security.
So, I am hoping. Really hoping that I can get assistance from anyone who in a place to give it.
We need roughly $3,000, more than that but I don't feel comfortable asking for more. I don't even feel comfortable asking for this.
We are leaving almost everything we have behind including our bed in order to be able to go somewhere we can afford and feel safe. Rent where we are moving is between $1,000-$1,200 for a place that we can have our two dogs.
Any extra money we get will go toward getting a new bed/furniture/basic needs.
I don't know how this was our fault, but okay.
This is part of the reason the room we were renting wasn't ready. They decided to pull up the carpet the day we got to the state and found tar. This picture is from a day or so ago. We have been living with this for almost a year.
something I haven’t yet seen mentioned in the ailments complaints- I’m playing the doctor career from GTW and patients and employees both show up to the hospital with ailments. It makes diagnosing sick sims much harder and one of the employees has that horny one where they set stuff on fire. Very cool.
