They are exploring under the bed! This is normal stuffed animal behavior, as they are trained to protect you from monsters and shadow creatures, so it's natural that they want to keep an eye out. Don't be sad, thank your friend for doing such a good job.

As an adult, and specifically as a woman who lives alone, I was determined not to have any stuffed animals on display, not out of embarrassment but because my grandma had loads of them and towards the end of her life she’d started to forget they weren’t real. It was so disturbing, I just didn’t want to set down a path that would end in… that.
But then one day shortly after moving into a house of my own I was walking around IKEA and i saw this orangutan.
I immediately loved this orangutan. I bought him, took him home, and he sits on my sofa. The instant he arrived, the house started feeling like my home. I called him Tango.
The wonderful thing is that basically everyone likes this orangutan? I’ve had really masculine guys come in to service my boiler who ask “What’s the story about the money?” and I tell them about it, and they respond by telling me about their favourite childhood toys, or how they’d seen a toy they liked and nearly bought it but didn’t out of embarrassment.
My Mum started knitting clothes for the Tango. Friends have bought Tango badges and accessories. People’s faces just light up the instant they enter my house and see this friendly orangutan.
Now I’m still very firm about not wanting a house full of soft toys because that has such bad connotations for me, but i have let up in recent years.
At Christmas, Tango is joined by Ebanana Scrooge:
And most recently of all, I’ve taken posession of my childhood bear Bramwell, made for my by my Mum when I was very little. After a few repairs I’m hoping he can join Tango on the sofa.
