A blog for Sunfall (PMDN), a grumpy glaceon who wishes to know what the sun's warmth feels like. (This blog is art and text based. Some posts may be written, and some may be drawn. Or both.)
Sunfall was quick to realize the rapid approach of one of the lights. He wasted no time bracing himself for an attack, baring his teeth. As soon as the light got coser, he could tell it was a lampent. It had a crazy look in it’s eyes, but Sunfall noticed that it wasn’t feral.
That didn’t mean it was friendly either, apparently.
But just as he was about to fire an ice beam as a warning, it started talking.
“EXCUSE MEEEE~” The lampent called and, for fuck sake, wrapped its metal arm around Sunfall like they were pals.
“Some of my weenie friends are too weenish to come and say hello-” He was immediately cut off by another lampent. Sunfall noticed yet another one, who thankfully remained quiet, and a glaceon approach as well.
“Please don’t listen to him, he’s an idiot. We were just a little surprised to see so many people out here who didn’t want to rip our no longer existent throats out.” Belmont said with the usual irritation.
“ W-well you aren’t feral so.... You don’t have to worry?” Sunfall responded. He was a little anxious.
“GREAT SO WE CAN TRAVEL WITH YOU? COOL.”
“Don’t just invite yourself into people’s travel groups, what if they don’t want a batshit insane travel companion?” Belmont looked at the other lampent in utter irritation.
“Yitzel does what Yitzel wants.” The silver lampent replied. Yitzel proceeded to twirl.
Sunfall honestly wasn’t sure how to respond to these people. He finally noticed the glaceon and her injury.
“.....Just don’t cause any trouble.” He grumbled, a little annoyed by how rambunctious the ghosts were. He was more concerned about the glaceons injury. How bad was it? He was going to check on her, but she changed his mind in a heartbeat with a cold, icy glare that pierced him worse than the cold of the storm.
She clearly didn’t want him touching her. But as he tried to approach, she bared her teeth. Those nice, sharp teeth.
"I uh. Just want to help you?” He said, unsure of her response.
“I don’t trust you, don’t touch me.” She hissed bluntly.
“Okay.” Sunfall responded. He didn’t have the social skills to deal with these people.
<Yitzel, Latte, and Belmont are available for asks!>
Sunfall didn’t forget how thick the snow was out here. How sharp the wind felt against his body. He was better prepared for it now, though. Such frigid temperatures are the reason he evolved.
He kept close to the others on the expedition. He didn’t want to be left alone in this storm again. He kept his head down most of the time. The wind stung his eyes and he needed those to work properly. They were kind of important.
He did however glance to the side, out into the storm. He saw three lights. Three eerie bluish purple lights. He was tempted to investigate, but he knew better.
He wouldn’t dare venture off on his own and likely end up against three ferals who likely had fire typed moves. He kept his eyes on the lights, whipping his ear flaps out of his face occasionally.

“HOW DID YOU TALK ME INTO THIS?”
“SH-SHE NEEDED HELP AND YOU WERE GOING TO KILL HER!”
“THAT’S WHAT I DO. THAT’S WHAT YOU DO TOO, IF YOU WANT TO SURVIVE.”
The two lampents, the shiny one and the silver one bickered on. The darker one stayed close to their newest acquaintance, a female glaceon. She had an awful wound in her side, wrapped in the silver lampent’s scarf.
“You didn’t have to help me...” She managed.
The darker lampent sighed. “Honestly I was going to leave you for dead. You looked about ready to die anyways. Latte is the one you should thank.” He said bluntly.
The glaceon flinched at his harshness. “.....Quite the gentleman. May I at least have your name?” She asked.
“Belmont.”
“That’s a cool name. I don’t have one, unfortunately.” She commented.
“You’ll figure something out.” Belmont responded simply. His attention was immediately drawn towards several other presences. He was about to address it, but the silver lampent beat him too it.
“YOU FEEL THAT IT’S LIKE A FUCKIN’ BUFFET OVER THERE LETS GO.” He exclaimed excitedly. And very loudly.
“ Have you lost your mind and we just haven’t picked up on it yet?” Belmont groaned. This fucker.
“ I can’t lose what I don’t have~”
“ Right. Well. We should investigate anyways. I’d like another person out here that isn’t batshit insane to talk too.” Belmont grumbled.
It goes all the way back to my childhood actually. Back to when my mother and I first made it to sanctuary.
I had spent most of my early days in terror of the things that lurked in the darkness beyond my mothers light. It was what took my siblings after all.
Such  Experiences had taught me to be afraid of new and unfamiliar things. And I was very scared of sanctuary at first….
But as I got used it it I started to notice that many residents had a job. And I watched from my window as the magpies worked the fields.
I discovered that the magpies were the ones that provided the food and resources that kept us all safe. And I greatly admired that.
So I started training to become a magpie.
Eventually I felt I was ready to try my luck at joining.
They noticed almost immediately that i was timid and shy.
It wasnt exactly a secret.
The person interviewing me informed me that the job did have its dangers. Some of the unexplored parts could hold hidden dangers. Like unstable ground, pits, poisonous plants and even magma. They also mentioned attacks on the farms. That happened on occasion.
And reccomended I join the doves instead. If I wanted to support the community. My timidity made me ill suited to be a magpie.
I was actually close to giving up and joining the doves at that point actually roy!
But
She offered to be my buddy of sorts. and join me on my expeditions so that i could become more confident and experienced with my skills.
In theory It would prepare me for the dangers of being a Magpie.
Eventually loosing much of my fear of caves. Using her psychic power to illuminate the road ahead and teaching me how to deal with simple obstacles.
However Mira couldnt stay my exploration partner forever…
And eventually she was scheduled for transfer to a different job.
Once the head of the doves was satisfied I could handle myself. That is.
so. I suggested for our last expedition together as “partners” we should travel deeper into the caves than ever before. She agreed.
A small offshoot of the caverns lead to a damp mossy cave filled to the brim with subterrainean plant life. Bioluminous mushrooms lit the cave. And water trickled gently from the ceiling. It was a breathtaking sight.
And at its centre. A mossy rock.Â
At first I convinced Mira that it could be our secret spot. Where we could meet and catch up when she didnt have to work. I didnt want to share it with other people. It was our special thing. And we visited the cavern many times.
Apparently if one spends enough time around a mossy rock they will also evolve…
And once I returned home… i was constantly pestered about how I had become a leafeon. Especially by the ravens.
No mossy rocks were known to exist in sanctuary. And naturally they were very curious and suspicious when I said i didnt know.
After a time Mira confronted me. Helping me realise that keeping the rock to ourselves was selfish. And wasnt fair to the rest of sanctuarys eevee.
And so we decided to bring the rock to sanctuary so that everyone else could benefit from it.
It wasnt easy. Mira wasnt exactly one for physical activity like dragging a large rock through a cave system. And I myself wasnt that strong.
But after a lot of effort and hard work we made it back. And presented it to The leader of the Magpies.
That very rock became the centerpiece of the community gardens. Apparently its presence helps plants grow. Almost on their own!
These days I still meet Mira by that rock sometimes.
Its our tradition after all.

Do you know where your sister is, Sunfall? Did she come to Sanctuary with you?
Sunfall: We were separated in the Storm a while back. I have no idea what happened to her, if she evolved, if she’s okay…. If she’s here, then I haven’t recognized her.
Ailo: Both my mate and my son are long gone now, though. * He sets the old picture frame against the wall next to him and sighs.* My mate died of old age, and my son...I don’t know. He left on his own adventure and we never saw him again.
Elsewhere, way outside of Sanctuary, way out in the Everstorm, three ghosts make their way through the icy winds and blinding snow. Their lights flicker brightly, aside from one, who’s light is quite small, and dim. Despite their situation, their banter continues.
“The weather hasn’t changed. At all.”
“Nonsense! I think the winds have lessened just a liiiiiiittle bit!”
“Whatever you say.”
“I-I think we should find some sort of shelter soon...”
“There is someone nearby, dying out here all alone! How wasteful would it be to just let their soul lie around in the snow!?”
The silver lampent sped over the landscape, stopping to look back. “LETS GO PEOPLE, FOOD SHOULD NOT BE WASTED.” He shouted back.
“Sh-shouldn’t we help people who are hurt!?” The brown one called back.
“If you’re a good person, yes! But I’m not a good person, and this one doesn’t have much longer.” The silver one called back. “It’s in so much despair, and those are always the best ones!”
“Maybe you should head out and make some friends.”
“....”
“Life is better with friends, child. I’ve lived long enough to know.”
“I’m not a people person.”
The ninetales sighed and let the teabag sit in the teacup, setting his paw down. “I know, lad. I know. I simply don’t want you to be alone after I-”
He was cut off with an irritated grumble. “I know.”
Sunfall kept his gaze averted from the old ninetales. The nine tailed fox may not look as old as he was, but it definitely wasn’t hidden. Both he and Sunfall knew that there was little time left, and yet it was the glaceon who was unwilling to accept it.
Mila: Sunfall i a very beautiful name.. It is suppose to mean warmth or something..?
Sunfall: A-ANYWAYS. My parents weren't the ones who named me, or my sister. The old man in the other room did. He said he named me after the most pleasant part of the day, when everything is settling down and it’s not too hot or cold.
Petal: Volcorona are kinda like the sun right? It's not as warm tho right?
Sunfall: I’ve never felt the sun’s heat before. I also don’t think the sun creeps on the ceiling and watches you all day. They must get pretty bored up there.
