"The road less traveled is often lonely" Everybody's reason for doing this is different. Some use it to escape, to be better than they were, to prove oneself or to find limits. It might seem crazy to onlookers. The amount of self inflicting pain we give ourselves every time our feet touches the ground. The unexplained feeling of joy when looking at the watch and beating your best time. It ain't easy. Trying to convince yourself to go out and run even on your worst days, the days in which you just feel like the whole weight of the world is on your shoulder. Certain sacrifices have to be made. Sacrifices that other people just won't understand and at times including your love ones. Your best friends will start to wonder why you aren't hanging out with them as much anymore. You avoid late nights and trade them for early mornings. You eat pain for breakfast. You're addicted to it, that's probably the reason why I do this. But as much as it has taken from me, it has also given me a lot in such a short time. It taught me how to be patient, liberal and to maintain discipline. Met inspiring people along the way. And the greatest gift was finding myself through running.
