The way I posted this months ago and it still holds true. I’ve been stressing over this major grade where I have to role play as the therapist in front of the whole class and my professor is the client and I have to “diagnose” them, so I’ve been memorizing DSM criteria like crazy. But honestly all I can think about is how one day when I have my own private practice I’m going to look back on this era and remember all the smut I wrote about Mac. Glad to know I’m not the only one.

Eddie: He splashed some water this way earlier, I meant to clean it up. I got careless. Volt: You'll have to forgive him, he's been a bit overworked as of late. Arma: Putting water and electricity together is usually a bad idea. Player: I'll say! Almost burned the house down! Eddie: I'm sorry. Volt: Don't be so hard on yourself! Mistakes happen.

Can we just. talk about this scene. The way Volt leads with understanding, compassion, and patience rather than judgement, disappointment, or blame.

Not "He said he was sorry." Not "He'll remember to keep an eye on these things." Not "He'll do better in the future." No.

"Forgive him. He's having a hard time right now and has too many things on his plate."

It's clear he cares about Eddie, and wants to return all the provision Eddie's work offers them (maintaining the club, fixing wiring systems to allow Volt more power, trying to catch up on work so Volt has everything he needs to do his job, etc). It's Volt's sacred and cherished duty to provide for and protect Eddie in return.

And his response when Arma tells them to be more careful?

"I'm on it."

Volt: Cross my circuits. I'd hate to cause any more trouble for the poor thing.

Volt knows how many things Eddie has on his plate, and takes this responsibility for himself when he sees how much it's tearing Eddie apart. It's such a small detail, and it's not even in Eddie and Volt's storyline, but it speaks volumes about who Volt is as a protector.

You've Got Mail (Ch 4 of 4 excerpt)

Mac x Reader  The following excerpt is sfw, but the full fic I link to Ao3 at the end is nsfw. Engage at your own risk.    Reader has pelvic floor dysfunction typical to female anatomy, but everyone is welcome to read. I wrote this for self-indulgent reasons but also to spread awareness about pelvic health and adaptive intimacy!

A door screeched open, wheels popped over the threshold, and those familiar sounds expelled relief from your lungs.

“Mac!”

Your eyes met. The relief fizzled out.

Mac’s gaze slipped past yours and landed on the fireplace. The fabric of their black hoodie bunched where they clutched it to their chest, jaw clenched.

“Mac?” you tried again, softer.

You caught the shine in Mac’s eyes when they refocused. You weren’t certain which one of you moved first, but the silent exchange ended with the two of you standing, wrapped in a tight embrace. Mac’s arms squeezed around the mass of your torso, and you pressed a hand between their tough but tired shoulder blades.

Your lips brushed their ear. “Come sit with me?”

Mac nodded into your shoulder.

The trek to the couch wasn’t a lengthy one, but time moved slower as your thoughts picked up in pace. Obviously, whatever came of the error made by that MoneyCoin employee had grown into a category five corporate disaster. The people left at the office would be assessing PR damage, clearing away paper wreckage, and if everyone was lucky, driving home before the clock struck midnight.

What the hell could go so wrong in a crypto company’s office building?
