I feel like something that doesnt get talked about enough is how fast fashion is coming to hobbies as well. Sure, you can sew, knit, and crochet something better than youd buy in store, but good luck finding quality materials

Want a fabric that doesnt fray from being gently caressed? Want yarn thats not 100% plastic and splits if you touch it wrong? Good luck finding that if you dont have a genuinely good crafts store near you.

Go on any thread where people are trying to figure out where to buy fabric. 50% of it is people saying big stores are servicable, online stores work, or the like, and the other 50% are talking about how bad the quality is or how the quality of a website dropped because it was bought out

Were running into a problem where fast fashiob is so integrated into society that even the ability to make your own, comfortable and long lasting, clothes is being threatened by capitalism

Excuse the bad pics but I regretted not getting all the goth stuff someone donated to the thrift so I went back and spent a lot of money (in thrift terms. New I'd be paying about as much for just the Hispanitas shoes tbh)

-the Hispanitas came with their original laces but I switched them out for ribbons because it feels a bit more modern-

The dress is too large but the idea is to wear it with a corset over it and having tried that, it looks amazing. The length is perfect. And IT HAS POCKETS

New wardrobe, who dis?

Ever since I started thrifting, my wardrobe has really diversified, I used to only wear black! Now I look at the item and how I want to style it and the color is secondary.

I visited 3 shops. The corset is from one shop.

The brown trousers, faux leather skirt, lettered top, flower top, pink heart cutout top, orange cropped sweater and black dress (no pockets but it's ok she's gonna be an underskirt for a project I think, it was €2 and I like how it sits) are from another.

The black and white top with faux leather and the shoes came from the final store.

I think Petit Riens blvd. Anspach wins the award for best curated thrift in Brussels, although the one in the Marolles is a close rival. I found a non-lace white corset there last week (not pictured) for two euros and a pair of beautiful Mais Il Est Où Le Soleil pants that were sadly too large for me (but anyone who loves broad layered tartan pants and green/teal and is a size 2 for this brand should go look for those pants immediately imo).

Grand total for this whole haul? 51 euros and a couple of cents (the last purchase was by weight so it has a nonsensical number after the comma).

And before you ask, yes, that is a zara top. I don't mind buying fast fashion at the thrift (as long as it's priced like thrifted fast fashion) because it saves clothes from ending up in landfills and I'm actually going to wear it.
