Waking up
next to my love
is a blessing too easily taken for granted.
Rising with you and the Sun
and the flowers and the trees
while we make love
like the birds and the bees
feels like dreaming
all over again.

if i look back, i am lost

Pretty brown eyes
It use to freak me out
when you’d kiss me with your eyes open
I always believed it took away the magic.
But now,
I’d rather see the soft brown in yours
than the black of mine
These bonds keep coming and going,
And they mean nothing.
I’ve grown too tired to give my all,
For nothing.
All of these nothings.
Sometimes sweet nothings,
But always nothing
And I can’t forget that.
[Verse 2]
You're all I know
I still got your poems hangin' in my room
While I play this music
I can't find you at home, at least I know you're gone
Nothing lasts forever, I know this.
Where there is potential for beautiful love, heartbreak lays beside it.
That doesn’t mean stop falling in love to avoid heartbreak
Because that love is worth having. And the joy they brought to your heart is worth keeping.
You don’t have to let go of those beautiful memories & feelings. There’s no need to pretend they didn’t happen & deny yourself those simple pleasures.
Remember the memories, not the person. Because that person isn’t who they were when the memories were made & neither are you.
Untouched
I know my heart wasn’t in it
that’s why I’m not heartbroken.
You sat on the outskirts
protecting me from loneliness
while neglecting me.
It’s not your fault,
the job description was just a security guard,
someone to stand out front
and make me look
secure.
I tried to ignore my need for you to penetrate it
bc I feared you didn’t have the tools
And I was tired of waiting for someone who did.
But now that you’re gone,
I’ve been feeling guilty for not being devastated
about making you leave
I realized that having someone close enough to
hear my cries
but not close enough to heal my cries
is why I don’t cry for you.
I crave romance
but you say this isn't a movie
You're shooting me down
but there's no one shooting us
The more we are together
The less I wanna be away
I got rid of everything that reminded me of you
I thought it would make it easier to forget
But from the amount of times you've crept into my head
I can tell my heart disagrees
Something unimaginable makes you ghost the ones you love.
Pushing away love because something within you won't allow you to hold onto such a pleasure.
The End of All Things - Panic! At The Disco
She's such a dreamy lover
but thats all, a dream.
You'll wake when she leaves because she always seems to break something on her way out.
I think it’s time to go inside but man these sunsets are beautiful
Tonight it’s a lilac fading into indigo
Shoes are hanging by their laces from the wires connecting the telephone polls
The crickets are coming out and the people are heading in for the night
And I swear these streetlights are getting brighter by the second
I have this aching loneliness within myself. It's like a hole I've never known how to fill, only cover. And on nights like this it's anything but shallow.
Why won't I let go of what I can't have? Of what is not real anymore?
