If a mimic could see into your heart,

What would it lure you with?

Treasures and gold?

A beautiful partner?

Maybe

I think it'd need nothing for me,

I'd simply go with it.

I talk to the void a lot,

Sometimes it talks back.

If you listen close enough,

It tells you what you so desperately want to hear.

Don't fall for it's traps,

It only gets quieter from there.

And she realized,

No matter how mean or tough she seemed,

She was just,

Another tired girl,

In a tired world.

Someday,

When all you have left is yourself,

You'll have to face those demons,

And Gods,

I hope they're kind to you.

Maybe I'm not a good person,

But I was good to you.

I am so tired now,

The pillows that once cradled my head,

Cover my face.

I can't scream any more,

I've run out of breath,

This is my final place.

I just want clear thoughts

But my mind is clogged

I planted flowers,

But the weeds have overgrown

How do I maintain a garden that doesn't want to grow?

It hurts to feel so strongly,

Like the air is being sucked from my lungs

I'm grasping for stability

Begging to live

But my mind wants to see my end.

Unwinding

Spiraling

Out of control

I'm losing my mind

Heart

And soul

My mind is exhausted

From all the intrusive thoughts

I feel myself collapsing

Under the weight of it all

I want to stand up taller

And fight till my mind is free

But I fear my thoughts will bury me.

Weak knees and weary hearts

A mind that yearns to be free

Eyes so soft and gentle

Begging to be seen

I feel my mind collapsing

Turning in on me

I want to think so clearly

But all there is are screams

I feel my heart cracking

Crumbling under the weight

I don't know long I will survive

I'm scared to learn my fate.

When daydreams become nightmares,

And sugar has turned to salt,

Lay you weary head to rest,

And take heed of your own heart,

Humans were made to fight

To survive

And that, my darling,

You will.

And I am so, so tired.

I'd slit my wrists right now if I knew I'd never feel like this again.

Maybe if I were stronger

Maybe if these thoughts weren't so damn persistent

Maybe if I knew how to love myself

I wouldn't be where I am.

I wouldn't be on this edge.

But here I am,

Standing on the ledge,

Looking at nothingness

And finding peace there.

It hurts to breathe.

All of my thoughts consume me.

One hurt after another.

I'm tired of trying.

Fighting to succeed.

Only to fall flat on the last step.

Does living really get easier?
