The lost loves I put back in my closet are looking less like skeletons and more like sweaters in summer–they were suffocating and I loved them. Some of them, too much, until they wound up in the shape of leftover duffles at baggage claim, until nobody wants them– not even me. After all, there’s only so much loving you can do with two left feet. Kisses tripping on the tongue like she sells sea shells so she sold my soul for a surer sense security. You can’t have this many backaches and still get yourself out of bed, in the morning. You can’t go giving ribs to every lost cause you fell in love with, and I scattered myself on the steps of the heartbreaks I buried to get here. I don’t know much about falling in love, but I sure know a lot about side-stepping out of it. So roll me downhill towards the moss with no stones and I’ll give them a heart to hold onto.

And if you’re in love, then you are the lucky one, Cause most of us are bitter over someone. Setting fire to our insides for fun, To distract our hearts from ever missing them. But I’m forever missing him.

6 Toxic Relationship Habits Most People Think Are Normal
There’s no class in high school on how to not be a [crappy] boyfriend or girlfriend. Sure, they teach us the biology of sex, the legality of marriage, and maybe we read a few obscure love stories from the 19th century on how not to be.
But when it comes down to actually handling the nitty-gritty of relationships, we’re given no pointers… or worse, we’re given advice columns in women’s magazines.
Yes, it’s trial-and-error from the get-go. And if you’re like most people, it’s been mostly error.
But part of the problem is that many unhealthy relationship habits are baked into our culture. We worship romantic love — you know, that dizzying and irrational romantic love that somehow finds breaking china plates on the wall in a fit of tears somewhat endearing — and scoff at practicality or unconventional sexuality. Men and women are raised to objectify each other and to objectify their relationships. Thus, our partners are often seen as assets rather than someone to share mutual emotional support.
A lot of the self-help literature out there isn’t helpful either (no, men and women are not from different planets, you over-generalizing prick). And for most of us, mom and dad surely weren’t the best examples either.
Fortunately, there’s been a lot of psychological research into healthy and happy relationships the past few decades and there are some general principles that keep popping up consistently that most people are unaware of or don’t follow. In fact, some of these principles actually go against what is traditionally considered “romantic” or normal in a relationship.
Below are six of the most common tendencies in relationships that many couples think are healthy and normal, but are actually toxic and destroying everything you hold dear. Get the tissues ready.

Distrust found you staring through questioning eyes, years of healing for naught. My scars have reopened finding the past.
What we say when we cannot speak
I whip my mind to push out another poem. I am milking dry a desert skull. I filter the sand through my hands looking for gold or even pyrite. I always end up cradling the sand like a dying child.

How can I aspire to ever write any memorable piece, when the only one who matters has already started to forget about me?
How can I aspire to write anything of significance, when the feelings I most cherish have proven to be entirely redundant?
How can I aspire to be anything more than I am today, when my mind, body and soul keep clinging on to the memories of yesterday?
What is this force that compels me to keep writing about you, until there is nothing left to say?

Questions
What are we but dreamers, letting outside influences depict the setting and possibilities in which our capabilities should flourish?
Why do we nurture this collective illusion of how life is meant to be?
Who’d consciously allow someone else to invade and dictate their dreams?
Life is far more grand than we allow it to be.

I am not the joyous spring That brings alive The decadent and sullen, With chirping birds and happy folks alike.
Nor am I the summer That warms your bones Sore and stiff from the wrath of winter winds.
Like the forever transitional autumnal winds, I wreak havoc by uprooting the most grounded And stable of souls. For what is life without a little fire and thunderstorms?
I am not very unlike the rain Unpredictably lashing and messing with the beauty of monotony, Gloomy with a silver lining.
For I never was and never will be contained to the finish lines drawn by mere mortals In the sands of time.
