“I couldn’t sleep.” The answer was short and simple. Drake sat downstairs, watching the rain outside leaning in the doorframe of the backdoor, moving his hand up to press the cigarette back to his lips taking a breath before blowing out the smoke.

“..You know what? I’m really fucking sick of everyone calling our relationship dysfunctional, because you know, I don’t think anyone really knows what a dysfunctional relationship is if you try pegging it on us. Sure, we argue, nag, bicker, and fight a lot- I get that, and it’s true we do, but that doesn’t make us dysfunctional. A dysfunctional relationship is one that they just don’t talk to each other, or the only thing holding them together is sex and make outs.. You wanna know why we fight so much? It’s because we care about one another, and argue about things that need to be worked through, and guess what? We fucking get through them. Don’t assume just because a couple is always fighting that it’s automatically a bad thing. We fight because we love each other, we fight because we want to work through the shit we have, and every time it only makes our love stronger. You know- I was also pissed at Ace for the longest damn time because he continuously brought up my past and got angry at me for it.. I didn’t understand why but now I do. He got mad because that was a part of me he wanted to know, good or bad, he wanted to know all of me no matter what, no matter how imperfect I was and still am… And you know, that means the fucking world to me. He’s not anywhere near perfect and hell neither am I, but we accept each other’s imperfections and work on them- together. A lot of people also tell me I’m a sucker for not getting Ace to ‘take me’ now. And really? I’m more than willing to wait. Even when we first met he told me he wanted to wait till he knew I was the one, when he proposed to me he told me the same thing and promised me then that on our wedding night we’d have our first time.. Ever since then he’s told me he knows i’m the one and is willing to do it before our wedding night, but this time I hold him back, because I know he still wants to wait for that night and I promised him that I was willing to wait. I’d wait an entire life time for him, and I know he’d do the same for me- for that reason or not. That is a loving working couple. We aren’t dysfunctional, yeah we aren’t perfect by normal standards, but we’re perfect for each other. And that’s more than enough for me.”
