Hot take (i think), I liked when Jessie, James, and Meowth took on a more serious role in the beginning of pokemon black and white. It was nice getting to see how good they actually are at their job when they dont get tunnel vision over pikachu. It felt like a nice throw back to the very first episodes of pokemon where they were shown to be more mature.

While the black and white series itself really knocked Ash off his high horse after all the progress he made up to diamond and pearl, the addition of a potential Team Rocket vs. Team Plasma storyline gave the series some real potential. (Right as I type this, the show does a freaking area 51 reference. Frick you mean area 28 has a lot of ufo sightings. Pokemon what the hell are you doing)

Regardless, I really love black and white and enjoy how the series is playing out.

Having just finished watching the Tobias vs. Ash battle, I genuinely teared up thinking how far he'd come to get to where he was in diamond and pearl. 🥺

Cant wait to move into pokemon black and white. I vaguely remember waking up to watch it at 8 a.m. on saturdays as a kid. Finally going to be able to watch that series in its entirety 🥹🥹🥹

Yknow, ive been watching through the pokemon anime, currently in the final seasons of diamond and pearl, and I realized- Pikachu's ability is static yet the anime rarely brings that fact up. The only time ive seen it brought up in diamond and pearl so far was in Ash and Volkners battle. There are probably a bunch of moments that completely went over my head, and ill hopefully see more as I move into black and white, but having already watched x&y through journeys a while ago, im wondering just how many battles could have taken a turn had static worked out for ash and Pikachu.

Update: Looked it up, Pikachus static was only brought up 4 times in the entire pokemon anime💀

Once in Hoenn, twice in Sinnoh, and once in Unova
