Grass Starter Submissions Open Now!
As promised, here we go; the Senjoh Region’s very first contest! Now, as we said, this will be a contest for our region’s Grass starter line… However, to speed things along, we’ll only be using a pre-set theme for our starters. If you’ve seen our introduction post, you already know that that theme is “Fashion”, but you may be wondering what exactly we mean by this. Allow us to explain what we mean and what we don’t!
“Fashion” can be from any culture! Starters are hardly limited by the region they come from, especially when looking into their inspirations, so don’t feel limited by the Senjoh Region’s real-world inspiration, Australia and New Guinea, when creating your submission!
“Fashion” does not mean that we’re looking for Pokemon that are simply wearing clothing. Look at Pokemon such as Samurott (who draws elements from an armored samurai) or Chesnaught (whose big, spiky shell calls to mind a big, armored knight).
“Fashion” does not necessarily mean we’re looking for something that is necessarily “elegant” - we’re simply using the word as a catch-all for garments of any kind from across the globe and time! (Of course, don’t feel restricted by this; if you want to design a high fashion Grass starter, go right ahead!)
The only hard-and-fast rules are that designs should not simply look like a Pokémon wearing clothes and that the line must be designed to be at least part Grass; anything else is fair game! There are really no other restrictions, other than the line must call to mind some form of fashion in its design! This contest will end on January 17th at 11:59 PM (Eastern Standard Time), though if anyone would like an extension, we’ll push the end date for submissions to January 24th (at 11:59 PM, Eastern Standard Time). (If you would like that extension, simply send a message in and we’ll gladly push the end date back!) Furthermore, there will be no limit to the number of submissions one person can make for this contest! While there may be in the future, this is our very first contest, and we have no way of knowing how many submissions we may get!
