Many Brits are saying emergency services have made them most proud of their country today
I don’t ordinarily share tablodi articles, but I felt it important to share this one. More than ever, today I’ve been reminded of that Mr. Rogers Quote: “When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, “Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.” And today we were reminded again of the helpers. I saw a clip in which a police officer called to transfixed passers-by, urging them to run to safety, making sure they got out of the way of danger. I saw the clips of passers by, doctors and nurses from Tommie’s run to the aid of the people who’d been injured. Pictures of politicians giving first aid to victims. But also, because, out of all the tragedy and chaos, this image summarises all that is great about the NHS. A Ward Sister has evidently run out, blankets in tow, ready to distribute them amongst the victims. I don’t know who she and her colleagues are, but I recognise their resilience and their initiative because I see it every day in my amazing nurse colleagues. Despite the pain, I smiled when I saw this image, because of course a Sister would make order out of chaos and sort things out. Rather than sharing images of the victims at their most bulnerable, I wanted to share an image of some of the formidable people who ran in when every fibre of your being is telling you to run away.
I’m proud to work amongst such people. And though I wish that we didn’t face such difficulties with the NHS, or face attacks like today, there’s nobody else I’d rather be stuck in this situation with than people like them.
Dedicated to the MD who called us hospital nurses “glorified babysitters.”
She got so mad she wrote song lyrics and edited a video and everything omg

UNC rape survivor Delaney Robinson comes forward with brave statement
Delaney Robinson, a sophomore at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill alleged Tuesday that a football player at the school raped her in February and that UNC has done nothing about it. In a powerful personal statement she explained how “she did everything a rape victim is supposed to do.”
One of the most beautiful commercials I have ever seen. Good on you, Amazon Prime.
Also just saying the music in the background is the piece “i giorni” by Ludovico Einaudi and it’s the most perfectly beautiful piece for this advertisement.
I still cry and I think I’ve watched it 200times now. I can’t
Everytime i watch it i start to love it even more
this legitimately gave me chills
This is so cute
You can’t love someone’s mental illness away.
#this is one of the hardest things to learn#and one of the most painful things to accept#you can’t love someone’s mental illness away#but you can love them through it and with it#and you can love them on bad days and good days and nothing days and everything days#and that’s more important really

Guys. It that time again:
i’m seeing a lot of people reblogging suicide hotlines and this is just a reminder that this is a suicide help line that works like a text-based instant messenger for people who may need to talk to someone but have trouble/are uncomfortable making phone calls
Never don’t reblog this. There are so many people who have such bad anxiety about phone calls. This can save so many lives
Also helpful if someone is in a situation they may not feel like talking out loud about their problems is a viable option (for instance if they live with a douchecanoe who would mock them for seeking help)
America had a chance to take a step forwards. A chance to continue progressing as a country, to become an open and safer place for people of color, LGBT, and all minorities. America had a chance to prove something. To stand for something.
Had, we had that chance.
A gentle reminder that this blog is LGBTQ friendly.
You are loved. Stay safe, be strong. Stay passionate and kind.
