I worked crazy hard on my cuticles this time..
I know I’ve been gone, but I had to do this in light of recent events.
Hi, your nails are absolutely amazing! I have to ask, are they acrylic or are they your real nails? I've been trying to get mine into that almond shape for quite some time but I've not been able to achieve it yet. I was also wondering if you find having nails of that shape and length hard to manage and hard to get used to when doing daily tasks. Sorry if that seems like a silly question, but I've always kept my nails pretty short and I'm trying to decide if i want them long like that. Thanks!
Thank you very much! And my nails are natural. I've never had acrylic nails. Though, if ever I have a nail split on the side and it snags on things, I will clip the nail and sculpt a fake tip and blend it in enough to where it still looks like it's a natural nail. Eventually the acrylic tip grows out so it is fully natural again. Until it breaks again. Currently, my right thumb nail had broken about.. A week and a half ago? Pretty much all the way to the base. Normally I try to keep the nail but this one just kept snagging on my hair and my clothes so I cut it off. It was super short. But try taking biotin or prenatal vitamins! They help hair, skin, and nail growth. And strengthen them too? I don't take them. My nails are just naturally strong. I heard birth control strengthens your nails too. If anything, that's what I've been taking. :) And no, I'm so used to my nails being long that this is normal for me. It feels weird when I have to cut a broken nail and having it so short. I function just fine, though I won't do tasks that might risk breaking my nails, such as taking out the trash. The trash bag is stuck on there way too tight so my boyfriend does that.
I HAD SO MUCH FUN WITH THIS SET OH MY GOSH
She couldn't pose her hands right.. I didn't feel like dealing with her though showing up to her appointment an hour late.
Excuse the shameless selfie, but I had wanted my nails to match my hair. Though currently, my hair is entirely magenta. I got tired of having to ombre it once a week due to fading. :(
Colored acrylic set! I love colored acrylic powder, it's so efficient!
That lady had come back for another "blade of grass" according to her Spanish to English translation app. Later I learned that she DID want it to be a pot leaf. Had I known that, I would have done it right instead of making it look like an autumn leaf.
Then I gave her a new set since the other set was too long and awkward. Normal sized stiletto nails! Not sculpted. :P
These nails were not very practical, she couldn't function quite well. But I wanted to practice a whole sculpted acrylic set. I don't advise this if you aren't patient.
Cute little nubs! :D
any nail care tips? I'm trying to get my nails long enough to go almond shaped
I'd say get some biotin to help your hair, skin, and nail growth. Thennnnn I would suggest OPI Nail Envy. Personally, I've not tried it but I've seen plenty of good reviews on it. Though, as a nail tech, nothing will improve the strength of your nails. The strength of your nails depends on how the matrix of your nails is. The matrix is beneath the eponychium area and anything you put on the nail plate will have zero effect on your matrix. Biotin and prenatal vitamins would be your best bet. Sorry for rambling. :(
