For all that they accuse people of using terf talking points, this is the actual terf talking point!!! It's known as gender essentialism, the idea that people who belong to a specific gender are all the same. In this case, men are evil. It's usually paired with women being pure and innocent (except those traitors and pick mes, of course).

The plot was lost long ago, when we stopped thinking in terms of nuance and started thinking of bigots as one dimensional beings, but we can claw it back. We need to move towards compassion. See everyone as humans. And in doing so, learn how to spot the bigots and counter them effectively.

A lot of people fell for terf rhetoric because they couldn't recognize it. Always ask yourself: am I moving towards compassion or away from it?

Transmascs and trans men are not "invinsible". They do not simply live unbothered by the world because nobody remembers they exist.

They are ERASED. That means historical transmascs are constantly misgendered. That means their impact and actions are not even mentioned in historical records. That means their struggles and suffering are constantly dismissed.

The difference between being "invinsible" and "erased" is that the erasure happens on purpose. Is not like the bigots just go "Oops! I forgot!" No. They do it because they want to. Being erased is the world constantly telling you you don't exist. Which is different from simply being "invinsible".

Wow it’s almost like there is a certain demographic of men who is disproportionately affected by “women’s issues” (ie uterine healthcare rights) to the SAME extent cis women are (if not actively worse when it comes to certain things- there are statistics that reflect this).

It’s almost like there’s a group of men that is categorized by the patriarchy as definitively not being real men, like, at all (and being something even worse than a cis woman in the gender hierarchy, as we’re seen as “defected women” who didn’t stay in our “proper place” and therefore need to be punished).

And, it’s almost like the incredibly cisnormative centric feminist frameworks of thought and theory in the mainstream (even in queer/trans circles!) don’t account for us at all and we’re constantly erased from and pushed out of conversations about issues that directly fucking affect us.

But yeah, sure, let’s exclude the men who are actively being denied abortion rights (among other things) from feminism. Because obviously, simply identifying as a man means society largely accepts, views, and treats you as a man on both a systemic and personal level, and obviously, our Innate Internal Essence of Manhood grants us some kind of a magical get-out-of-patriarchal-oppression-free card. This is totally how it works.

Like, contextless and divorced from any intentions by the OP, it can be easily read as someone pointing out how misogynistic and patriarchal men accuse women of oppressing them in the vein of MRAs.

But we also know there hasn't been a large conversation on tumblr about genuine actual MRAs and they aren't in the zeitgeist to be the subject of snarky posts.

Looking into the (2k) notes of that post, though, what we do see is 1. Radfems 2. Straight up terfs saying TIF and TIM 3. People talking about transmascs 4. People wishing death on men 5. People specifically talking about transandrophobia (negatively) and 6. People saying men aren't oppressed, like, ever at all.

It's these context clues that very obviously points this post toward an anti-transmasculine sentiment even without being on the nose about it. OP isn't talking about actual literal pericishet MRAs. OP is talking about transmascs, and while correctly identifying that misandry is not an axis systemic oppression on its own, they've misidentified and intentionally misconstrued what transmascs are saying about our experiences.

It's another example of a motte and bailey argument. "I didn't say anything about trans men" (despite hundreds of people in the notes clearly picking up on that intention).

What people are saying is that people's negative perceptions and judgements of men inform the specific and intersectional biases of when men have other identities that are marginalised. "Women's spaces" is one of those things that sounds kinda ok when it is completely divorced from reality but the reality of gender segregation even on a small scale means there is no way to actually implement it that isn't incredibly bigoted and bullshit. What people are actually trying to do is make a space where they don't have to confront anything or anyone that is upsetting to them. But what people are uncomfortable with is based on emotional reactions.

Case in point, I've never been to a woman's only space that wasn't obviously hostile to me, and that's when I was even allowed there in the first place. And I understand why - my voice is very low and I make no attempt at voice training, I dress in a gender neutral way, hormones have done very little for me. Unless I am making a special effort to be feminine I clock as a guy. I am also tall and broad. The only way I can gain any kind of acceptance in "woman's spaces" is if I go to extreme effort to completely warp my presentation and step on egg shells the entire time. If im not actively ashamed and apologetic about the fact I read as a man I am not welcome.

Because, again, the reality of woman's spaces is that they are about the comfort of those who organize them.

I'm also very aware that it's not just non passing trans women who get the short end of the stick here. There is a long history of racism connected to these kinds of spaces that absolutely has not been resolved, for example.

The other half of the woman's spaces discourse is about resources, and is just so detached from reality it is kind of pathetic. The idea that a trans man coming into a woman's only space is somehow stealing resources from women is pervasive as it is stupid. The reality is that very few resources of any kind are expended in cases like this, and far more important is the single most important resource in marginalized politics, solidarity and coalition strength. Any "loss" of resources that occurs when lines are blurred is more than made up for by the social and political power that depends on different marginalized people regularly interacting with each other.

I think we can make the call here people, segregation is not woke. (Yes this is sarcastic in a "I can't believe I have to say this" way)

Bigotry against trans men is just as real and just as wrong as bigotry against any other marginalized person. Hey so in the report post it shows hundreds of items selected.

Is that an attachment of screenshots in the report email or is there a way to attach more than one post to a report that I've missed?

Oh, that's just my e-mail inbox and the amount of results when I search "tumblr report" in there! You receive an e-mail for every reported post, and another one when a verdict has been made (although I tend to delete the initial "thanks for reporting this! We'll get back to you when we've had a look at it" e-mail directly from my notification tray). So, that's an inaccurate count of my total reports over the years, not a single report.

That said, sometimes Tumblr lets you add multiple links to a single report (it adds a new line when you copy-paste the link into the field), but it doesn't always do this? I think it's a little glitchy. In my experience the most reliable way is to be on desktop and click report directly on the blog, not an individual post. But it might also be tied to the report category.
