PHM fandom!! You all have been amazing but I need to tell you smth. Not to reprimand, just to recommend. I'm saying all this as a Russian myself.

In Russia, people VERY rarely call each other by their last name only. It usually shows either disrespect/disregard or that you think the person you're talking to is beneath you (like some strict teachers call their students by their last names). I guess it can be neutral in a workplace scenario but I'm sure that Olesya isn't your coworker. So call her by her first name please!

Btw the most respectful way to address people from Russia is to call them by their first name + patronymic. It's sad that we don't know her patronymic... Then, first name + last name would be the more respectful/official way. Just first name is the friendly way. Just last name isn't very friendly.

Pls continue showing Olesya your love, she might not have been in the movie/book a lot, but she matters 🥹

It's so interesting how there are writing tips like "Make your characters feel more like people! Give them interests and relationships beyond the topics of your story!" and also there are tips like "Characters AREN'T real people. You don't need to give them 28648 traits, you need to make them serve a purpose in the narrative."

And I guess the best way is to try to strike a balance? Like, it's amazing when a character is well-developed and feels alive and we can learn many fun details about them. At the same time, these details shouldn't distract us from what's actually important in the story. Human minds are definitely way more complex than the people we make up, we don't have themes in our lives and character arcs. Things in real life just happen, but in fiction every event needs to have a reason to be in that story.

In mokumokuren artwork it's really common for Hikaru to be positioned behind Yoshiki 👀

I think it's great visual storytelling. At first it creates a distance between the character and the viewer, giving the character the mysterious aura it deserves... like a living shadow

Also gives the feeling that Yoshiki has blind faith in him. Full trust on this creature he just recently met

Lastly the concept of Hikaru being the support he needs, someone he can lean on, watch his back, protect him

I've just watched it and I've read a lot of posts with criticism about it and I AGREE but I think there's one thing we haven't discussed yet.

Human!Crowley doesn't even feel like Crowley at all. No sarcasm and wit, no confidence hiding a deeply emotional heart. He's meek and nerdy and friendly.

He acts more like angel!Crowley. From the time before the fall (or a polished version of him). So it really feels like the writers prefer the angel Crowley and not the demon we've been following all along 🥲

(The "You were the best angel" line was diabolical as well)
