I was asked about the design of each character in Bartimaeus fanart, so I came up with my own. I really enjoy thinking about each of them, about their lives, their personalities, their quirks, and the fashions they prefer.

And this below is an illustration correlation published by a Japanese publisher at the time of publication of Bartimaeus. Because I saw this as a child, the image of Ptolemy in my mind is of shaggy hair.
