like i know its the institutionalized sexism that means womens hockey players have to actually prepare for careers in shit other than sports but its so fucking bonkers to me that every nhl player is functionally illiterate meanwhile gwyn phillips has a degree in industrial engineering aerin frankel has a degree in criminal justice and psych and alina muller in addition to being a bronze-medal-winning Olympian at age 15 has a bs in neuroscience and a masters degree in (basically) kinesiology. like im on alina muller's linkedin rn and first of all, alina muller has a linkedin but also like in addition to being a medal-winning olympian at age 15 she was a research assistant in a well regarded neuroscience lab at northeastern for three years like my girl is SO smart. anyway.
