Overwatch League - a sad goodbye.

When OWL was first announced I was so happy, I'd been watching competitive overwatch and this seemed like a dream, all the players in different regions finally going big and getting to play against each other. I was a Gladiators fan, they had my fav player at the time, I didn't miss a single "Battle for L.A" I'd buy a jersey that no longer fits and in game skins. I'd stick with them until my city got a team, The Toronto Defiant. I'd go over to friends houses and put on OWL and we'd get caught up in the timelines of players and teams. I even watched Contenders. Now season 6 comes to end, I sit here watching with friends on Discord, as they listen to me ramble on about the teams that I adore. Hoping that there is a next, that there is more of this. I will spend the rest of my night watching fan compilations of some of the best OWL moments. Thank you OWL and thank you to the community that I'd never talk to, but like all of your posts.

just. god. regardless of what owl could have been and what it deserved. at the end of the day i'm a different and happier person than i was 6 years ago and the scaffolding that owl provided me is a big reason why. it means a lot to me and i will miss it very much. i had a lot of fun today. im gonna miss this.

Genuinely, looking at how we're almost guaranteed that Overwatch League will not be continuing, I'm genuinely sad. I've been so bad about like following it these recent years, but I'm so so so sad because I enjoyed it SO immensely in its first years all those years ago, and it was truly.... it was an experience. ;-;
