Kenny sighed and pushed his hood up over his head going quiet. He cursed himself internally. He was doing exactly what she had told him not to do. How was she to know that him putting up his hood was a way to gather the strength to speak. He bit his lip nervously and thought about what he should share.

Kenny inhaled sharply and turned his head to catch Bebe's eyes. "Look, no one can do anything about it. So don't worry about me," He lied. Kenny smiled sweetly turning back to hie his face.

Kenny slipped his cigarettes our of his pocket and lit one quickly. He reminded himself to breath--in and out--with each drag. He wished his family would disappear until he saw Karen's face in his mind. Her ever present smile so out of place in their world.
