I Miss My Room
The one in New York, the one that's so close to my office. In the greatest city in the world. Where I could look out and see the skyscrapers and even the park. But no one else could see me. People still can't see me, but the view isn't the same. It's just an ugly lawn. The secret service agents are the only ones here beside me. I never realized it would be so hard to be away from Baron for so long. Don't get me wrong. I don't spend tons of time talking to him or checking his homework, but knowing he's there is comforting to me. Knowing that someone is there who still depends on me and needs me. What would he be without me? He'd come into the room sometimes while Melania and I were getting ready for bed and she would sit him on her lap, and they would watch TV together while I finished up some phone calls. We never did much talking, but it was still comforting to have him there. I thought I was used to having the press around, but this is different. Before the press would follow me around to get important updates and breaking deals. Now every single time I cough someone is trying to open an investigation. I don't understand why they won't just let me be. I'm doing exactly what I told them I would. Nothing's changed about me.
