Can you please give me some advice on lifting books? The kinds I want are hardcovers, & I'm really struggling with that.

I can give advice on barns and noble but I don’t know much about other book places. For starters, B&N hard cover book will almost always have an RFID sticker put on a random page and sometimes on the cover of the book so you will need to flip through the book and remove it. My favorite method that I learned here on liftblr (I don’t remember who came up with it) is bringing a backpack with a few of your own book in it. Then you browse and pick out the books that you want and go sit down in the cafe area with them. You then take your books out of your back and get them kinda mixed up with the ones you want to take. While you do this, flip threw the books and remove any RFIDs while pretending to read. You should spend a decent amount of time here as is you were actually studying/reading. When you are ready to leave you can put all of the books in your backpack and leave. Another way is to just bring a structured purse and pick out the book you want, flip through it, and conceal in a blind spot. The children’s section is usually a decent place to conceal because there is rarely cameras there in my experience, but this all depends on the location. Anyways, good luck and stay safe :)

How to get a big haul

So you want to get into the thousands digits? You want to have fifteen urban decay palettes stacked upon each other at the bottom of your purse? Cool. Just dont get it all from the same store. If you’re planning on having a heist, travel a bit. Go a place that has a lot of shops, like a high street or a shopping centre. Take a reasonable amount from each store and don’t get cocky.

Repeat; don’t get cocky. Grabbing ten of the same mascara will sure have the LP up your ass. Look like everyone else in the store, take similar amounts to other people in the store and when in a blind spot, conceal. Check prices, walk at the same pace as everyone else, wear similar clothes to everyone else, have bags from nearby stores to look like you’ve actually bought stuff, ect. Most importantly, be quick and unnoticeable. In the words of Belle from a secret diary from a call girl - be fabulous but forgettable.

Steal stuff from several stores, find a toilet and stuff them onto your body. Waist trainers, several pairs of underwear and thick clothes - whatever you do. You get the point. Then repeat. If you have a car, park far away from where you’re lifting. Unload into your car every few stores.

Don’t go to the same store more than twice, ideally only go once. Don’t spend longer than 10 minutes in a store if its smaller, 20 minutes if it’s bigger. Don’t let the LP or SA see you more than two or three times. Don’t let them remember you. Remember - be fabulous but forgettable. And don’t take too much from a single store as companies notice these things. Don’t be the one to change the cameras from basic domes to those new 360 Panasonic cameras, which are basically death traps.

Once you’ve gotten what you’re happy with - abort mission. Walk away, get a bus, drive away - however you want to get home, do it. Then once you’re safe and sound in your bedroom, smile at your new stuff.

Then get annoyed because you have to organise all of it. Sorry i had to add it :)

new method

so today i got a toooooon of shit using a shoebox. So basically, I brought an empty shoebox in a bag from shoes that I purchased recently in the mall i was shopping at. I rolled up the clothes I wanted super tightly and stuck them in the shoebox while I was in the fitting rooms and between a few stores I dumped out the shoebox into my trunk and went to a new mall entrance. Felt easier than my usual body concealing method because you don’t have to worry about being lumpy or sweaty because you’re wearing 6 layers of clothing

Alright guys here is another cup method that is just about fool-proof. Now there’s nothing necessarily wrong with the original cup method of making the incision at the bottom of the cup other than that you’ll have to constantly hold it from the bottom which is unnatural. Hardly anyone actually holds their cups that way and can easily be sus. By making the cut on the side of the cup, you can hold your cup normally and even lift it up in case anyone gets sus, and since there’s no cuts, it’s as if the makeup is just disappearing into thin air. All you have to do is with an x-acto knife, make either a hole or an X cut which will be covered by the sleeve, all you have to do is move the sleeve slightly upwards or downwards to conceal. If it’s LOUD ( ie: crinkly plastic wrapping around it) use the coat over arm method, while covering your entire hand, and just holding it under there and walking out.

If it’s THICK ( ie: a huge ass cardigan ) and you have a small bag, roll it up as much as possible, stuff that baby in your bag, disregarding if it looks over stuffed, and then cover most of your bag with a coat draped over your arm.

If it’s SMALL ( ie: lipstick, eyeliner, pens ) stick them in your waist band to save room in your purse, or just stick them in your purse after you sleeve them.

If it’s DELICATE ( ie: a wine glass, lil plants, figurine ) wrap that shit or place an empty container like a tupperware box that can fit in your purse, or a plastic cup, and place them in there so it won’t get squished.

I have a post on the pamphlet method that I posted pretty recently. I actually came up with it my self! Basically you get a pamphlet that they usually have In Most stores have them either on a new line of products or a store credit cards. This can also work with magazine! So basically you just walk around with the pamphlet open like you’re reading it and pick up the item you want (better for thinner items) and put it on the pamphlet and just close it! You don’t even have to conceal it but it won’t look strange if you just pop it in your bag!

Lowrisk ideas for babylfters!

-My easiest store is G00dwll. I love vintage clothing and it’s the best place to get it, and they don’t seem to care at all about lfters, though of course you should stake out your location first. Mine has no tags, like one camera, counts nothing, and the dressing rooms always have hangers when you get in! A basically foolproof scheme for a babylfter is to come with something old of yours worn under your clothes, take what you want into the fitting room, plus a few decoys, and switch what you brought from home with whatever item you want, and then put back everything yourself. The risk on this is really low unless you take something super memorable. 

-Vlta coffee cup conceal, one lipstick in a cup full of tissues to prevent noise,  you cut an X in the bottom and shove it up inside the cup. Hold it close to the display, after you’ve staked out on a previous visit to see where the cameras are. As an extra step, you can take it to the bathroom, check the box for tags, if it came in a box, and stick it in your bra or panties for a great on-body concealment. 

-Look for an untagged bra in your size at VS! Bring in about three decoys to the fitting room as well, put the one you want in the middle. Sometimes it’s smart to make one of the decoys the same as the one you’re taking. As long as no one looks closely when you’re going in, you’re golden! Just put it on on top or underneath the bra you’re wearing and make sure no straps are sticking out. Protip- give a fake name for the fitting room! 

-Any mall store that is bad about tagging stuff and doesn’t count can be a great opportunity! Take stuff off of hangers or pick items without hangers. On body conceal in the fitting room. 

-First time with a partner? Plan everything out in advance so you don’t have to interact while inside the store! No one should know you’re working together at all. Discuss your favorite blind spots, and you can perhaps arrange for one of you to place items there for the other to conceal, while the other stays near the SAs to sense out if there’s any chance of being sussed.

-Remember you won’t be able to do too much your first few times, once you actually start doing stuff your nerves will make you look sus, so you need to start small, and start using the lowest risk method you can. No matter how confident you think you are, you will be nervous your first few times, and experience is the only real way to learn. Do not try to get a “haul” of any sort, do not go for a big-ticket item, and stay away from notorious stores like S3phra, W@lmrt, JCP, Trge3t, and others with a strong LP system.

My method with buy and sell pages is to post one thing that you’ve lifted a bunch of. So, say you’re trying to boost Peach palettes. You post in the group that you’re selling a peach palette, and make sure it’s well below retail price. I usually sell palettes for $30 and I’ll accept less if I have to. You’ll probably get multiple messages from people wanting to buy the palette (it might be easier for me bc I’m in a college town, but idk) and they’ll always ask “Is the Peach palette still available?” and you say yes and negotiate a price and figure out where you’re gonna meet and all that stuff. Every girl you sell a palette to thinks she’s the lucky one who managed to get a great deal before someone else could, but really you’re selling like five or six palettes.

ok so alottttt of you ask how I do my “scarf trick” and it’s so hard to explain unless I actually show you.. so here we are

straight forward af, first

tuck the scarf under your arm your holding your bag so it completely covers your bag

select two of the same item (not as obviously as I did in the video clearly)

put them both behind your phone, pass one to your hand sort of through your scarf and slide it in your bag

pretend to read the other item decide you “don’t want it” and put it back which is literally all that looks like on camera and they can’t see you conceal behind the scarf I think it’s pretty fool proof I don’t go lifting without wearing one!

Concealing Tip

1. Buy a shirt/pants from another store. Put the receipt in the bag. 2. Lift stuff from other stores. Put the stuff inside the item of clothing in the bag. 3. Wrap the clothing around the items you’ve lifted. Do it QUIETLY and SUBTLY. Or in a change room. 4. Bag check upon leaving? You paid for that item of clothing in another store, see, here’s the receipt. *shrugs*  Haven’t seen this one discussed or promoted, and it’s one I use a LOT.
