Lucinda laughed again, almost bouncing in her spot. âNo.â She hissed. She moved onto her feet, inching closer and crouching beside her. âCovering your ears wonât do anything.â These humans were so pathetic to Lucinda. She was so much stronger than this human, and she was going to use those abilities against her. And though her size was much smaller than Fayeâs, Faye couldnât do anything. She grabbed Fayeâs neck quickly before Faye could do anything to fight against her. âDo you want to play this game?â
What could say? What could she do against a child that seemed so hellbent on something. Before she could find something to say or do she was being head by her neck, Faye's hands dropped from covering her ears and went to trying to get the girl off with no avail. Her eyes widening when the demon mentioned a game and as best she could Faye shook her head in protest to it and tried to give another cry of no. She knew deep down it was all in vain the girl hadn't been listening before and she had no reason to start now since she had the upper hand here.
Lucinda nodded, giggling even more as she sat in excitement. âAw, is poor little Faye scared?â She shook her head. She didnât know if she was supposed to be going around telling people about something she thought was a little bit of a secret, but it scared people and this could only go up from here. She sighed. This woman had to know what she meant when she said demon. Did she not know what demons do? âSharp teeth,â She began describing what the demon that had killed her looked like, thinking back to the young demons features. âSharp claws,â Lucinda focused her energy like she would with any other abilities she knew of, feeling the claws stem from her fingers, and held one hand up. âSurvives off of blood.â Blood was something she enjoyed as a human and now in her afterlife as a demon, the only difference was that now she needed blood. âHow do you think I got into that useless, tiny brain of yours?âÂ
Faye was frozen she couldn't speak, couldn't move, couldn't do much of anything but watch the girl. She found it impossible to answer her with her voice and couldn't bear to the thought of giving the other any more against her, Faye just swallowed the lump that had formed in her throat at some point. Faye finally found a way to move in her fear and started inching away from the girl leaving her things behind when the word sharp teeth was said, it was a short lived attempt to get away as the girl raised a hand up. "Stay away from me." Faye finally found her voice again when the girl commented about demons surviving off blood. Faye covered her ears with her hands as if it would prevent the girl from poking around, "S-stay out of my head." It was such a feebly made request that she knew the girl would ignore.Â
Lucinda shook her head. âNope.â She giggled. She had made this woman uncomfortable and it would only take minutes before everything would be worse. This was the perfect situation for Lucinda to be in. âItâs called a, D-E-M-O-N.â She spelled the word out as if Faye wasnât the smartest, though Lucinda knew she was a least a little smart. âCool.â She had no idea what that meant, but she did know it was something to do with her brain.
They hadn't met, then she must have read her name off of one of the books. Faye's eyebrows knit into a frown as the younger girl giggled, there was something foreboding about it. Had she said demon? Faye gave the girl another look over trying to process things in her mind, "D-demon..?" She stammered out letting out a breathe Faye hadn't known she was holding in with the word. "Yeah." Was all Faye could say to the girls own one word of acknowledgement, she was afraid to take her eyes of the other now as if she'd warp into the form one would more associate with demon. "What'd you mean when you said demon..?"
Milesâs eyes widened and he instantly crouched down beside the girl, trying to help her pick up her belongings. âAhâsorry, you just⊠here.â He handed her something heâd picked off of the floor. âIt looked like you needed help and I ah, well. It wouldnât be very polite of me to leave you like this, would it.â He babbled as he ignored her request and continued to help her gather her fallen belongings.
Faye remained silent as the stranger talked and picked up the book holding it out to her, "Thanks." She said taking the book from his outstretched hand, Faye gave a small smile. The stranger was right, but she wasn't so quick to voice that idea just went along and picked up the things he didn't shoving them back into her bag. "You were right." She finally spoke up, "I'm just not feeling a hundred percent right now." The sentence didn't feel complete but Faye wasn't sure what else she could say to add to it. "Thanks... Again."
"Oh well," She said with a shrug. Nobody was going to tell her what to do. She had one person to listen to and this woman was not it. Lucinda went through Fayeâs mind, picking out her name and a few other pieces of information. "Now, little Faye, Iâm not going anywhere." She laughed. She nodded. All the better to torment her with. Just thinking about that made her excited and giddy. She would take this to any height just to get the pain she needed to see. "Why might you be here?" Everything this woman said was making Lucinda happy. Every piece of information she would soon get to find out could be held against her if ever needed. "Friends" were what Lucinda was out to make. Of course not real friends, but what Lucinda liked to think of were friends; people she could make fun of, hurt- whatever she would like to do to the innocent ones who got in her way.
Faye cleared her throat and shifted a little where she sat, not quite sure what to make of the person that was now beside her. Blue eyes widened and then eyebrows furrowed when her name was brought up, had she said her name? Or maybe she'd met this girl before, or maybe the girl had simply read her name off the cover of one of the journals. Whatever the reason Faye returned her attention to the girl trying to find some sort of recognition, "Have we met before?" There was something about the way the girl had laughed and how she just appeared seemed to be able to freeze blood and Faye found herself tripping over her words, "Uh, t-temporal lobe epilepsy." She tucked a stray strand of blonde hair behind her ear finding the girl's presence a little strange and just ever so slightly unnerving now.
Sofia sat in the art room, waiting for someone- anyone to talk to her. It wasnât going to happen, but a girl can only dream. Her eyes were locked on the girl that she could barely see in the hallway outside of the art room. She furrowed her brows, feeling the sadness that the woman was also feeling. It made her heart sink seeing this sight. She sighed, standing from her chair and made her way to talk to the woman. She loved helping people and she took any of these opportunities she could get. Sofia leaned back against the opposite wall and looked down on the other female. âIâm not going anywhere.â She replied, âIâm going to help.â She told her, kneeling down to get to her level.
She just wanted to be alone. And Faye felt like voicing that want until the other said something about helping, Faye was the one that found herself looking down and wanting to help this was the second time a stranger had held out a hand to help. Faye looked up from the ground to the girl that was now kneeling beside her and it took her a moment to find what she wanted to say, "I don't know if anyone can help me with something like this." Faye almost whispered it left a bitter taste as well as leaving her shaking her head, it felt hallow when the words replayed in her own ears.
Jack looked at the woman, wondering what could be wrong. He didnât know her, but it made him sad seeing that she wasnât doing too well. He heard what she had said, and nodded. Sitting across from her to give her space, he kept his eyes focused on her face. He sat there for a little while not speaking and letting her calm down before he said anything that could possibly make it worse. He knew he was not the greatest person to be helping her in this rough time she seemed to be going through, but he wasnât going to walk away and make her suffer and drown in her feelings. âHey.â He greeted quietly, giving her the smallest of smiles.Â
Her eyes darted up once when she heard the feet stop and saw a boy sit opposite of her. Faye let out another shaky breathe and started getting her things together and back into her bag, when she was done Faye fiddled with the ring that hung on a chain around her neck trying not to think about why she was sitting on the floor. She almost completely forgot about the stranger until he spoke up and letting go of the ring Faye looked up and tried to smile despite the fact she must have looked like a wreck. "Hello. Uh, s-sorry for being kinda rude."
Lucinda had been roaming around the asylum, looking for something to do. She was trying to control the hunger that she felt deep inside her stomach because she was too tired to actually go look for a human to hurt in order to get what she needed. She walked down one of the narrow hallways and spotted a woman. The sad sense she gave off made Lucinda smile. If she wasnât going to hurt anyone physically, the best she could do was give someone even more emotional pain than what they were already dealing with. The womanâs request was heard by Lucinda, but she ignored anything she had said. âNow why would I do that?â She asked, walking closer and sitting beside her. âWhat ever is the matter?â Not that Lucinda cared what was wrong or anything about her feelings, but it was something to get her to talk. She looked at her, faking the worry in her expression.
"Because when someone makes a request like that the polite thing to do is listen to it." Faye gave her reply through her teeth and went about picking the things that had come out of her bag setting them back into their proper order, it was somewhat difficult with her shaky nerves and someone watching her. Faye could have given a bitter remark of some sort but she bit her tongue and instead looked at the younger patient, she could have also said it was because she was alive but something like that wasn't exactly something she wanted to be sharing around her. Faye looked back down at the things she'd been organizing and left them back on the floor with a sigh, "A lot of things." Was her reply accompanied by a small smile her eyes going back to her journals and loose leaves of paper, "Well. Just a reminder of why I'm here." She grabbed the journal at the top of the pile and shoved it back into her bag.
It was a god awful thing to see him, she'd been doing so well to. But those big brown eyes repeatedly sent her reeling and reminded her something was broken in the head that sat on her shoulders. Faye pressed her back against the wall and slid down it, squeezing her eyes shut and her mouth seeming to be wired shut. It wasn't real, wasn't real. He was dead and by some dumb fucking luck she was alive to live a  hell of an existence for a little while longer.Â
When it had passed Faye opened her eyes again and opened the flap of her bag with shaky hands, everything came out and slipped between her fingers scattering around her. "Shit." She muttered as the knot in her chest grew tighter, she didn't move to gather her things instead she pulled her knees up to her chest and ran her hands through blonde hair trying to grasp the mind she felt was slipping between her fingers like the things from her bag.
"Go away." It was cold request to the pair of feet that were walking in her direction. Faye stretched out her legs again, sniffling as she rubbed at her eyes to dry them and looked around at the mess that had been made around her.
Are you one of the many that made up the pool of fascination?
Wish I could say I was. But I'm one of the more mundane and predictable patients here.Â
So this is what the inside of a nut-house looks like.
Fascinating.Â
Yep. And it stays fascinating because of the people that call it home.
Mr. Broken looked up too see a younger girl standing in the doorway. He smiled and immediately put down his pen.âOh thatâs okay. I should probably just install my own lock.â He said. Being the smug bastard he was, he stood up and moved over towards the girl. âIâm Mr. Broken.âÂ
"That right there would certainly solve your problem sir." Faye said with a smile and nod of her head. "Mr. Broken?" That was certainly something she needed to write down in her book to remember, Faye stuck her hand out for a handshake as he got closer and out of that almost irritating habit, "Faye Baton. It's nice to meet you Mr. Broken."
"All the money I put into this damn place and I canât even a lock on my office door." He groaned as he heard the door open. He didnât bother looking up from his papers.Â
Certain things like knocking on a closed door escaped Faye every once in a while. Looking around the room and the man that sat behind the desk Faye was about ninety percent sure she was in the wrong place. Faye stayed at her place by the open door tempted to take out her journal and check the number again but she instead leaned against the wall and added a comment of her own. "Maybe you should put a sign up of some sort if you can't get a lock." "Sorry for intruding."

Mhm. Thank you. [He nodded a little.] Yeah, not so sure Iâm looking forward to it, but I know itâs bound to happen sooner or later.
You too, Faye. So what about you, have you been here long?
You're welcome. Hopefully sooner rather than later, don't want to be in this place too long. Why not? Are you scared of them?
Uh. About a month, I think. It's kinda easy to lose track of time in this place.
