This is my last project, i’m really proud of it !! It took me a couple of hours of hard work.

First thing first !
I used the Pattern Simplicity 5840 with the tutorial of Half Blood Sisters that I found on Pinterest. I simply followed her instroctions. I made some personnal changes, but that was tottaly personnal, that is why my Wizard Robe can have some difference with the one in the tutorial i linked.
This is how I sorted my patterns and a little sample of each fabric I used for the projet. I will let the original pattern in his package, but all the altered pattern I did, I putted them in a clear envelope.
Only me, first time I could put the robe on my shoulders. That feeling is amazing !

I’m working on my Hiccup cosplay from the first movie and I just finished sewing the strip on one sleeve. Also I’ve received the fur to make his vest and boots!
The faux fur is from Fabric Empire and is “chocolate mongolian sheep”. I feel like it’s a bit darker than the picture, but it’s still exactly what I needed.
As for now it’s taking me longer to make this shirt than my steampunk coat :’)

I can’t take credit for this beautiful pinafore dress I’m wearing, I got it from Darling Army (here) and I absolutely love it, My goal for next year is to be able to sew something myself, big challenge for me. I’m also wearing a petticoats (also from Darling Army (here).
(Also as you can see I met David Tennant and it was incredible)
Cosplay Wig Party Wigs Synthetic 45cm/17.7" for Black Butler Madame Rouge
So I bought it on Ebay and I think it looks and feels not that cheap except for the fact it shed few strays of hair. At artificial light, the wig can appear a bit lighter.
Je l’ai acheté sur Ebay et je trouve qu’elle à l’air pas trop cheap excepté pour le fait qu’elle perd quelques bouts de cheveux. À la lumière artificielle elle peut apparaître un peu plus claire.
I went at a hairdresser who accepted to cut it. I’m pretty much content for the result except for the V shape since they cut it a bit too short, but it’s still cool.
Je suis allée chez une coiffeuse qui a accepté de la couper et je suis plutôt contente du résultat à part pour la coupe en V du toupet qui est un peu trop courte, mais c’est tout de même bien.
I bought it at last year’s Comiccon on Catherinette Rings booth. I just sew two of the longchains to the lace and shorten the extremities since it was too long for my neck.
Je l’ai acheté au Comiccon de l’année passé au stand de Catherinette Rings. J’ai seulement cousu deux des longues chaînes à la dentelle et rapetissé les extrémités, puisque c’était trop long pour mon cou.
2. Telescope+Pocket watch... | Télescope+Montre de poche...
As for the choker, I bought them at the Comiccon last year at a booth that I don’t remember the name (I’ll update the post when I know it). It was a little bag with many steampunk accessories
Comme pour le choker, je l’ai acheté au Comiccon de l’année passé à un stand dont je ne me rappelle plus le nom (Je mettrai à jour la publication quand je le saurai). C’était dans un petit sac avec plusieurs accessoires steampunk.
3. Brooch | Broche
This is an old brooch I had and it helped to hold the telescope.
Ça c’est une vieille broche que j’avais qui a aidé à tenir en place le télescope.
4. Gear | Engrenage
Like on the gloves this is a gear from a batch I bought at a Michael’s store.
Comme les gants, l’engrenage vient d’un paquet que j’ai acheté à un magasin Michael’s
For her outfit, I entirely used the Simplicity 2127 pattern without any modifications. So this won’t exactly be a tutorial, but rather a post with some informations and suggestions if you want to sew it.
Pour sa tenue, j’ai entièrement utilisé sans faire de changement le patron Simplicity 2172. Alors ce ne sera pas exactement un tutoriel, mais plutôt quelques indications et suggestions si vous voulez la coudre.
Coat | Manteau:
Ruffles | Collerette/Volants: You make those. No need to search already made ruffles. / Vous les faites. Pas besoin d’en chercher des déjà tout fait.
Chain | Chaîne: I sew a little hook the right corner of the neck ruffle since it wasn’t pratical to dress/undress with a chain going left to right. / J’ai cousu une petite agrafe dans le coin droit du jabot, puisque ce n’était pas pratique pour s’habiller/se déshabiller avec une chaîne qui traversait d gauche à droite.
Bustier:
*Be careful to properly adjust your bustier! It’s trickier since it’s supposed to fit the body shape.*
*Faites attention de bien ajusté votre bustier! C’est plus difficile étant donné que c’est sensé épouser la forme du corps*
Interfacing | Entoilage: It says to buy a lightweight interfacing, but I recommend a type that is holding up well. It will even look better. (I’ve found my bustier a bit wrinkly, because of that) / C’est écrit d’acheter un entoilage léger, mais je recommande une sorte qui se tient bien. Ça va paraître encore mieux. (J’ai trouvé mon bustier un peu «fripé» à cause de cela.)
Boning | Baleines: Try to find boning with casing. I found a 6mm one not precovered and I realized once ready to sew that I couldn’t do anything without the thread seeing on the other side. So I used bias. / Essayez de trouver des baleines avec des coulisses. J’en ai trouvé de 6mm non recouvertes et j’ai réalisé quand j’étais prête à coudre que je ne pouvais rien faire sans que le fil paraisse de l’autre côté. Alors j’ai pris du biais.
Buttons | Boutons: Sew buttons BEFORE sewing your lining! I won’t appears once it’s done. / Cousez vos boutons AVANT d’apposer la doublure! Ça n’apparaîtra pas une fois fini.
Skirt | Jupe:
The skirt lie on your waist not on your hip. So trust your waist measurements! Save you hours of work unlike me.
La jupe repose sur votre taille et non les hanches. Alors fiez vous à la grandeur de votre taille! Évitez vous des heures de travail comme je l’ai fait.
To give an idea according to my measurements | Pour donner une idée d’après mes mesures:
Hip | Hanches = 108cm
Waist | Taille = 75cm
At first I used the 20 hip pattern size and it was way too big. Then I took the size 18 which was better but still a bit too large so I’ve arranged something as seen under.
J’ai pris en premier la taille 20 pour les hanches et c’était vraiment trop grand. J’ai ensuite pris la taille 18 et c’était déjà mieux, mais tout de même un peu grand, alors j’ai arrangé de quoi comme vu en-dessous.
The bump isn’t perceivable since the skirt has a lot of pleat and you wear a coat.
La bosse n’est pas perceptible, puisque la jupe a beaucoup de plis et qu’on porte un manteau.
