hi what the fuck. no art rn sorry but i do need to comment on how the fandoms treating paper now that ii s4 e4 dropped because it frankly disgusts me !

spoilers for ii s4 e4 under the cut of course

im not gonna beat around the bush i am TIRED. T I R E D . of people calling paper racist. he is traumatized immensely by the acts of meeple so of course there will be payoff?? did you guys expect that theyd all be fine and dandy after the ii s2 finale and not ever give a fuck about the situation again?

no. obviously.

paper’s trauma and trust issues caused him to act irrationally this episode. he did the wrong thing, but AS HE SAID IN THE END OF THE EPISODE: HE’LL MAKE THINGS RIGHT. he is not a bad person for this.

he knows and acknowledges that he was being rude and disrespectful to poppy and he will make up for it.

people are saying he’s a heartless racist little bitch.

paper is allowed to make mistakes, as long as he learns from them and doesnt repeat them.

not to mention i feel like this writing is quite realistic and good for the show.

theres more payoff to the mephoneX situation + a character has trauma that isnt depicted in a way that shows the victim of the trauma can do no wrong as can be seen in media often.

paper was scared and anxious . he acted in a stupid way due to this anxiety this doesnt make him deserving of comments like “we should kill paper” HUHHHH??????? he was acting in such a panicked way that once he heard that thing tapey recorded that pop[py confessed of course hed be afraid. he had been distrustful of poppy [and metag] beforehand whether he liked it or not so it would dmake sense that this drove him over the edge.

im not sayin you cant dislike paper of course everyones entitled to their own opinion but PLEASE, he is not a bad person. just because he did something bad does not mean he himself is bad. he is going to grow from this and make up for it and improve, or at least i hope he’ll try to.

also on the racism thing—idc about jokes theyre just not funny but for those who genuinely believe he is racist , he is not at all and you probavbly have the media literacy skills of a rhinoceros if you think so. just being honest. he was scarred from the ii finale plus he’s always been quqite anxious so…not racist. also he doesnt hate corn he hates meeple and anything he associates with meeple.
