These little narrative asides make the story so much more fun and actually make me feel closer to my MC because she's got this sparky personality that I get to hear through her thoughts.

Honestly, I cannot emphasise how much I love this enough.

anyway Platinum is breaking a lot of my expectations of a Choices book

1) first it wasn't just about that competition show, and now it's not just about the album

2) Ellis Knight is probably not a creep I was afraid he'd be

3) we actually had to sell that song

I'm really grateful for this book. like, I might cry.

Me after today's Platinum chapter:

I don’t believe I’m gonna say this

But Platinum is on of the best in the ongoing choices stories at the moment. I didn’t think I’d enjoy it when it first came out because I’m not a fan of reality show and I thought it would be cheesy as hell.

But the story, the connection between the characters and the pace are just engaging. The chapters are long as well and I was sad when the chapter ended because I was so engrossed in it. I didn’t even feel that with NB or BB.

I guess it tells that no matter what the genre is, a strong plot and good connection between characters win.

of course the one and only diamond scene with a li after weeks of hiatus is with beckett

so it seems that not once in that month long hiatus did it occur to the te writers that they could give shreya a storyline other than ‘look at this outfit I got for you!!’ with a splash of ‘reminder that i’m rich!’ thrown in 🙃👍
