cigarettes, alcohol, and other drugs are extremely common topics and motifs in this aesthetic, however i'm not gonna condone them at all. i started smoking at age 13 because of this trend and it took me 8 years to quit (i also developed problems with alcohol). these are things that are associated with 2014/ soft grunge, but they are the furthest thing from essential. to each their own, but if you're not a smoker, please don't start now.
