some thoughts on the tadc finale

I thought it was good for what it was. any problems i had with the episode came more from my general issues with the series rather than any self contained misses

pomni is far too underdeveloped as a character. I dont think she built enough of a relationship with ragatha or anyone except kinger for me to believe in her "we're all in this together" mentality. Her relationship with jax is interesting but it says a lot more about jax's character than it does about hers.

as much as i appreciate ragatha finally getting some support from pomni, the friendship still feels way too one-sided at the end of the day. I really wish they used ragatha's character more cause shes so interesting

i do really like what they did with jax. her development is still pretty clunky overall as i dont think a character as complex and nuanced as her can be done justice in nine episodes. writing a transfem character who abuses the women around her is a REALLY ambitious task.

i do think jax is transfem. in fact i think its pretty obvious, and people who are saying "its a headcanon why are you attacking :<<" are just refusing to see whats right in front of them lol

its unfortunate that jax abstracted. I completely understand why but I think her actually having to deal with the consequences of her actions towards ragatha gangle etc. would have been way more impactful, especially after witnessing her be a terrorist for most of the series fhjdksjhjk

i am so happy the backrooms movie is doing well. liminal space imagery / dreamcore / traumacore has been such a big inspiration and source of comfort for me its lovely to see the style be appreciated
