I really like how Wang both berates Bronco (calling him his servant in some translations) but also feeds into his ego when Bronco pesters him for praise. I do understand why he’s ignored by fans unfortunately. His personality is just so all over the place after case 1 and case 5 Wang is just a completely different person, there’s really nothing to latch onto. His relationship with Bronco stands out because Wang cares about and trusts Bronco enough to interfere with any legal procedures that could get him in trouble (until it was undeniable he did it).

It’s also so interesting that Wang, a massively pathetic coward and the kind of person Bronco would mock is his father figure. I definitely think it has to do with Wang using him as a tool and validating his skills

You're so real, I agree with almost everything there. I think Knightley's and Huang's familial relationship could not be more one-sided, I'd even say Huang only somewhat found out about the extent of it during the events of I2-1. So he didn't realize how severely his attitude and overall being Huang-ness affected Knightley until it was too late. It's not every day that you get a subordinate who unconsciously aggressively treats you like a father figure because of the sole fact that you're his boss lol.

So I think Huang's view of him was not very deep but he really hoped that things would somehow just work out in the end for his group and that Knightley would end up being chill about everything (didn't happen obviously). I think he was even scared of Knightley (no way he wasn't with him waving that gun around all the time lol) but held on to that hope and enabled him anyway because of cowardice and sloth and stuff and etcetera.

Though despite that I do think the big things he did for Knightley were not out of care for him but just to save his image, since he ALWAYS puts himself first except for that one time shit hit the fan big time in the second half of Turnabout Target. This happens once with him leaving Knightley to be killed by Shelly, and again when he goes back to smearing Knightley's image in I2-2 just to salvage his own. Specifically after he swore to do better at the end of I2-1 too, ouch. I love this moment, sounds pretty much like a Huang thing to do and is another footnote to I2-2 as a bitter conclusion to I2-1 that shouldn't have happened. I'd happily regard this as the last we see of Huang in the game.

Waiter waiter more shitty cursed found family relationships between minor characters lowkey nobody gaf about please. Another one of this kind that I also like happens in the fangame Conflict of Interest, although their relationship is much much different.

It's been a long while since I've celebrated Knightley-related dates (sorry March 25) or even drew Knightley at all, so have the happiest of death days my guy! I wish a wondeful day to you and to the woman who stabbed you to death (I forgive her)

The Imprisoned Turnabout will always have a soft spot in my heart, it has one of my favorite casts in all of Ace Attorney. I love their dynamics so much, with Patricia as the MVP who ties everyone together with a nice little bow. It's an easy 2nd place behind Target in my game ranking.

Anyway yeah that's it! That's the post.

HAPPY COC-1 TURNABOUT SCAPEGOAT DAY!!! This is a case. This is the case of all time.

It's funny to even think this case is in my A tier, but it absolutely isn't going anywhere below it. I could never imagine I'd like it so much, especially with how slow and clunky the first hour is. Just as I could never imagine Contempt of Court would become uh, my favorite game of all time or something.

This case is so CAMPY. There are so many moments and quotes from this chapter that make me want to just put my head in my hands, in a funny way. It was absolutely written by some high schooler in 2010 and it shows. In fact, the silly approach might be the best possible when making a beginner fancase, since amateur writing can enhance it instead of working to its detriment lol.

But, something I came to notice when I played a couple other different beginner fancases, is that Turnabout Scapegoat is just... straight... up... GOOD? Its second half does such a good job of keeping the player constantly engaged, and it's rare to find characters as entertaining in an AA case, let alone the author's first. So that may sound silly but it doesn't surprise me at all that the creator would eventually go on to make such a straight up amazing case as CoC-4.
