Allow me to deliver you an idea that has an unbelievable cracky quality to it:
Imagine you’re online, just browsing around, reading omo fics and looking at omo blogs. Little do you know, your FBI agent is desperately waiting for you to log off, because they really have to pee. They can’t leave you unattended, though, so they have to keep squirming in their seat until you decide to get off. All the omo stuff you’re looking at is also making them even more desperate.

a character only getting one short break and just not having time to get everything done; they have to go get their wallet, buy their lunch, eat, and by the time they’ve finished their break is practically over and they need to get back to work right away
trying to keep a straight face and a friendly voice while dealing with customers but having to go SO BADLY
being forced to stand still for the sake of image but being so desperate that they’ve got to keep one hand grabbing their crotch at all times
(being one hand down would severely impact their job tbh)
in my store the break room and employee bathroom were upstairs, so imagine a character FINALLY finishing their shift and trying to quickly get to the bathroom but just completely losing it in the stairwell before they can make it,,,
a particularly nasty customer chastising them and trying to adjust prices and use coupons and such and keeping them far too long past their shift when they need to get to a bathroom like now
an employee knowing they aren’t going to make it up the stairwell so they just duck into one of the freezers or stock rooms and find a corner to go in and just pray they won’t get completely fired for this
why does nobody talk about holding while shopping?
especially with a partner! especially at malls! malls would be the best!
characters not being able to squirm or they’ll attract attention and embarrass themselves
characters having to stand and wait in lines for long periods of time while trying not to fidget and squirm
characters not being able to hold themselves because they’re carrying too many bags
having to stop while walking to cross their legs, just getting ushered along by their partner so they don’t make a scene
characters dropping one of their bags and having to agonizingly either bend over or squat down to recollect their items
characters trying to act normal while talking to cashiers, trying to stand perfectly still and talk casual while absolutely BURSTING
characters finally realizing they aren’t going to make it but desperately looking for somewhere private to hide, but the mall is just absolutely packed
a character’s partner saying they can pee, but only in a cup from the food court
a character’s partner making them drink the entire drink first to empty the cup (and of course the cup has to be large, how else will it hold everything?)
character absolutely BURSTING as they walk with the weight of the full cup in their bladder, their partner withholding the cup until they can find somewhere private
character is barely holding on, starting to leak, absolutely bursting, just trying to find some privacy, bladder rock hard
finally making it back to the car but not being able to sit in the car without putting pressure on their bladder and completely losing control
having to pee in the cup in the parking lot, only hidden by the car door, and of course, the cup isn’t big enough, so it ends up overflowing onto the ground and their pants, but they can’t be bothered to care at this point
i kind of went off on a tangent with the cup here but i really love the idea of that scenario-

“Are you…leaking?”
“H-Hold on, hold on, stop walking, I-I’m gonna have an accident.”
“I-I don’t wanna ruin your seats!”
“Hey, do you need that bottle for anything-?”
“D-Don’t touch my stomach, I’m bursting!”
“You look sick, are you okay?”
“Are you sure you can handle gym class today?”
“So we can’t leave the room during the test?”
“I’m sorry! All we have is my little sister’s training potty right now! The plumber’s still working!”
“In the car?! Um, I think we have diapers in the trunk for my brother…”
“We’re almost home, we just need to walk a few blocks, can you hold it?”
“I’m having a conversation right now, can you hold it?”
“Stop bothering me, just wait a second, I’m busy.”
“You’re just exaggerating how bad you have to go.”
“No more talking until we get home! Just be quiet!”
“You have to pee? But we already came all the way out here! Just try on the clothes first.”
“No. You need to give your presentation now, you’ve put it off for WAY too long!”
“Can you just sit still for a little bit? You’re kind of making a scene.”

There should be an amber alert or something to warn us, hopefully. But if you’re so close to the blast that the entire outside flashes white your first priority is to get underneath the blastwave any way you can.
After that you have 2 options: drive away or protect yourself from the radiation.
Option one is tough because literally everybody else is going to want to do this, and you could get stuck right in the fallout. And lemme tell you, if you’re stuck out there when the ashes first fall for more than 15 minutes, you’re dead. Radiation poisoning.
Option two is harder, but has a better success rate. Get underground. Most houses have a crawlspace, but in this bad time just saw a fucking hole in your floor. Put table over hole. Pack some large containers (like tubs), with dirt, tight, and stack them on your table or wherever you’re going to be directly underneath. you need 36 inches if dirt to be protected from the radiation poisoning. You could preemptively buy lead and stick that in a container with a lot of serface area, i forget how many inches you need vertically.
How ever much serface area the dirt/metal/lead covers is how much you and your party will be able to move around. As long as there’s enough inches vertically you’ll be good so long as you stay under it.
You gotta stay under there for at least 2 weeks, 3 to be sure.
Also, if you can see the mushroom cloud, stick your arm out as far as you can. Do a thumbs-up and close one eye. If your thumb is bigger than the cloud, you are safe. If the cloud is bigger or the same size as your thumb, then that means you are in the radiation zone and should evacuate immediately.

PSA: COUGH MEDICINE + SSRI ANTIDEPRESSANTS CAN KILL YOU.
I am apparently very very lucky that I had a low dose of both. Google tells me that what I had on Saturday was serotonin syndrome and it can apparently kill you.
The culprit is dextromethorphan, which is a cough suppressant and is probably in most cold medicines.
Feel free to reblog this because my psychiatrist didn’t warn me and the label on the cough medicine had nothing about this.
