#alright everyone it's due tomorrow (tags by @clannfearrunt)

fae portal if I ever saw one. can’t fool me
I know my older self watches over me proudly just as I look back at my younger self now and that brings me a lot of comfort
just so everyone knows, this is one of the thoughts that I’d repeat to myself during the darkest times of my depression. I had to be strong, for future me. Future me was watching me through memories, wishing she could comfort me and tell me that I do pull through and things do get better and that she’s so so grateful I was able to keep fighting.
and it was true

My boyfriend is doing something awesome.
He’s making an online spell maker/ witch encyclopedia
Basically you can type in an intent or keywords and get ideas for spells
Or you can type out everything you want and it is also color coded (key words like love are red, courage is orange, etc.) and do cyber spells
It’s not done yet but once it is I’ll for sure be sharing on here!
gotta look this up to see if they ever finished this.
We plan on releasing it soon, the only thing is that not every ingredient has been added and after its out we may still be in the process of adding
Look forward to it! Android?
Certainly it works on all phones since it’ll be a web app, but it can be added to your home screen for convenience :)
I’m dying waiting for this

@magyk-soul Thanks so much for saying so! I always show Ian the developer the nice messages from this post (sorry I don’t reply to every one!) And it always makes us smile to see people enjoying our site!
Since I haven’t reblogged this in a while and it turned up on my dash again today. Reminder that OP changed urls and is ash-verity above, and totally worth a follow. And if you haven’t yet checked out this site, do it NOW.
All the little witchy peoples!!!! Its our witchapedia for everything :D<3
I love it when people use "chemicals" to denote man-made, as though everything wasn't just chemicals. Water is a chemical.
What the fuck do you think plant medicines are? How are you working as a herbalist if you don't know this??
I like to study the pharmacology of herbs. It’s a fascination of mine and has been since I was a weird teenager. The thing it’s taught me the most is actually how dangerous and unpredictable plant medicine can be. I have a deep distrust and annoyance with the entire holistic/‘wellness’ industry and culture because it is FILLED with dangerously ignorant people and snake oil.
I know more than one person you has experienced permanent or long-term damage from taking the advice of random herbalists. Herbalists who stick their nose up at modern medicine are often dangerous because they don’t see herbs as chemicals or medicine but see them as some magical pure harmless cure-alls. They don’t think they could ever cause harm because they are ✨natural✨, and that’s simply not true. That’s not how medicine works. Not every medicine is right for every individual.
You want to sort out a solid herbalist from an ignorant one? Ask them what the mechanism of action is of the herb. Ask what the active compound(s) are. If it’s multiple herbs ask how the combination is more beneficial (if two herbs have a near identical MOA why not just take one? More herbs ≠ better. Sometimes it’s LESS effective.) Ask them if this herb has any interactions with other herbs or pharmaceuticals. (big chance that there is at least one). Ask about effects on pregnancy. Ask if there are people who should not consume this herb. Ask about side effects.
It’s easy to memorize what an herb is known for and spit out a recommendation. It’s less easy to understand the pharmacology of them, or know how to take into to consideration nuanced things like family history or medical history. If someone is sad you can’t just recommend St John’s wort or microdosing shrooms without knowing if they have a family history of bipolar or schizophrenia. Why are you recommending a stimulant to someone with a history of palpitations? History of liver disease? Maybe don’t advise them to take Kava?? Plant medicine is NOT more ‘pure’ than pharmaceuticals. Plants have multiple compounds, with multiple effects, at varying concentrations that depend on a number of environmental factors.
Most importantly, if someone has a serious ailment? They need real medical professionals. They need pharmaceuticals. An ‘herbalist’ who is incapable of understanding that or talks down to you about the medications you take is an enormous red flag and you shouldn’t take their advice, period.
you do not have permission to stop caring about vampires just because october is over btw. vampires are a year round event

seeing straight men be disgusted by booktok smut recommenders has actually radicalized me to the side of booktok smut recommenders. girls your taste may be atrocious but i will never disparage you for exposing mainstream discourse to the concept of soaking through your underwear. spent my whole life listening to men talk about penises it’s about time they get jumpscared by women talking about pussy in crude detail on social media. go forth and goon my warriors
I work at a bookstore and hearing one of my male coworkers call smutty romantasy "the downfall of society" because it's "literally just porn" radicalized me
Men have an entire industry. Entire industries dedicated to their sexualities. Let women have fantasy sex. there's not even a camera crew involved.
Left this in the notes
I haven't seen dancing pumpkin guy ONCE this year, are you guys okay?
FINE! I'll do it myself
