Performance art: “Accordioniste”
This time it was in a supermarket among many other places. I had challenged myself to going everywhere with my accordion and playing as I went. We had attempted to communicate using the language of musical chords, rather than words. The supermarket had become a rather different experience for us, as did other places, and while taking action in something that I would not ordinarily do in such a place, I actually noticed more of the environment than I would have had I only gone for grocery shopping. The art is not just about demonstrating, but perhaps even more importantly, experiencing a different perspective myself as the creator of the perception.
Travel Excerpts with “Binary Universe”:
On the one hand, all textile images are taken from my travels around the world. On the other hand, they are then worn to different places around the world where I take more photos when then become more dresses.
On the practical side, as a traveler - as a backpacker - one major concern is how much stuff you bring: needs to fit in one backpack! And what if like me your concern is that you want to be able to chance your outfit everyday without the pain of bringing a suitcase? Simple! Binary Universe -
This time I had packed 4 dresses - 8 halves, that is - 8 different halves of left and right, and thus 16 different combinations in total! With two halves on me and the other six halves in my backpack, I was all set for more than enough for two weeks. Ingenious!
Travel chic, travel light, travel conceptually.

Performance Art “C’est moi, l’aiguille”
“C’est moi, l’aiguille” translates to “It’s me, the clock hand”.
Walking around in Paris wearing the concept of nonexistent time, I answered to the thousands of passers who shouted “Quelle heure est-il?” (What time is it?) Can you not see that my clocks have no hands? “Monsieur le temps n’existe pas!” Time does not exist!
I am the clock hand, I am the time! The time is only one way in which I exist and experience my existence!
---
The Timeless Clocks had taken over my life for some time already now; it was actually born out of the expression of a severe fear of knowing the time. I have been living with this condition for some time now.
Daily tasks such as checking my phone, reading email messages, even waiting for the bus, had become rather inconvenient for me, and as someone who does not have this fear, you would not be able to imagine how ubiquitous the clock is. Sometimes I go the whole day well and safe, and I turn my head and the watch of a stranger hits my glance. The world and existence in the world is a very different experience when one is obligated to mentally quantify the sensation of time passage. As for me, I can no longer bare this condition. I sought escape from that sensation of quantification. I continue.
Example of “Binary Universe” in action. Patent pending.

Samples from latest Loop Theory Collection of Binary Skirts - in process of manufacturing.
Concept: skirts are halves and halves. Reversible! Meaning that skirts would be sold in units of 1/2, mix match. If you wanted a symmetric skirt, you would have to buy two of the same pieces.
Many times people ask me why my hair is asymmetrical; I respond with the question “why should it be symmetrical?” And then they ask me where I am from, and I never know how to answer this because I have grown up and lived in two separate worlds, or more, and glued them into one.
