Reading a Love Letter (detail)
βare you ready to stop acting like a brat now?β
Β first of all, this is no act
itβs so romantic in paris.

β mistletoe β accidental.
there always seemed to be mistletoe at these christmas parties; she supposed that her actor friends couldnβt resist the temptation of catching an awkward couple underneath the plant and making them kiss for their own drunken enjoyment. amanda herself never cared for the practice. she usually went to these things alone, and inevitably, some insufferable, pompousΒ it boy would use it as an excuse to steal a reluctant smooch from the starlet. they knew very well that OLIVIA COREY was an ice queen with high standards, and she would never give away a free kiss otherwise.
this year, there was palpable discontent among the admirers as she entered the party with quentin on her arm, but she paid no mind to their jealous murmurs, nor did she ever once stray from his side. she was well used to their covetous stares, and though their attentions might have annoyed her had she not had a companion, now that amandaβsΒ finally been reunited with her lost love, sheβs absolutely relishing in showing him off.Β
so when she finds herself beneath the obligatory mistletoe once again, amanda does not huff or sigh, or roll her eyes in distaste, nor complain loudly about the gaucheness of it all, like she would with any other β instead, she grins widely as she pulls quentin in for a spontaneous, passionate kiss.
